Design and build database maintenance utilities. Research, recommend, test and implement database changes related to capacity/performance. Ensures databases follow corporate and business required backup schedules. Designs and implements appropriate statistics gathering and database reorg strategies. Reviews current and future database needs versus technology and capabilities; recommends replacement where appropriate. Develops standards and practices for Database Engineering. Maintains relevant database documentation to facilitate support by Database Engineering and Operations staffs.
