Submit P& L Variance Reports in a timely manner.\nHandle certain Top and Target accounts; participate in joint sales calls.\nProvide direction and input, and approve the hotel Marketing Plan; following up weekly.\nReview Top and Target accounts and weekly sales call reports with sales staff.\nReview room inventory management to ensure maximization of room revenue.\nApprove and monitor all negotiated rates.\nHotel Personnel\nHire, train, counsel, and motivate management employees.\nEnsure proper selection, training, counseling, and motivation of hourly employees.\nEnsure proper administration of benefits programs to all hotel employees.\nConduct all department head performance appraisals.\nReview all hourly personnel performance appraisals.\nEnsure an employee attitude of attentiveness and anticipation of Guest needs.\nReview all hourly employee disciplinary procedures and documentation. Follow positive discipline steps, up to and including termination, to correct employee performance deficiencies.\nConduct regular staff meetings.\nEnsure department quarterly Action Plans are completed and followed up on.\nSupport the dress code standards described in the Standard Operating Procedures for the company.\nGuest Service\nMeet with and solicit comments from Guests on a regular basis to determine their level of satisfaction with all Guest services and facilities.\nMonitor results of Guest comment cards. Take appropriate corrective action in a timely manner.\nFollow up on all written Guest complaints. Ensure Guest satisfaction with resolution of the complaint or problem.\nAccounting\nReview and approve the hotel payroll.\nAuthorize direct bill accounts and monitor the administration of Accounts Receivable. Ensure collection of Accounts Receivable is current and past due accounts are kept to a minimal amount.\nHotel Upkeep\nInspect rooms and property grounds and exterior of buildings on a regular basis for cleanliness and proper preventative maintenance.\nDevelop and maintain hotel programs to assure that the Quality Evaluation Program criteria are met.\nComplete written reports on the status of the property after a Quality Assurance inspection.\nComplete and submit all forms for Capital Improvement for the hotel.\nManage all outside contractors to ensure they are fulfilling their contractual requirements.\nMiscellaneous\nMaintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with Guests, clients, co-workers, and management.\nEnsure all employees are trained to act according to procedure in the event of an emergency or accident at the hotel.\nEnsure that a viable key control program is in place in all hotel departments.\nKnow, understand, and enforce compliance with all company Standard Operating Procedures.\nEnsure that the security needs of the property and Guest are met.\nMaintain an active and visible position in the local community and industry.\nDevelop and maintain rapport with competitor hotels, City Conventions and Visitors Bureau, Chamber of Commerce, lead sources, client, etc.\nParticipate in community activities, employee functions, and Guest events.\nRespond to Regional Managers requests. Follow up with Regional Manager on a regular basis.\nPerform all other duties as directed, developed, or assigned.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nEducation and/or Experience: A four-year college degree or equivalent training in hotel department head positions required. Management experience required.\nLanguage Skills: Ability to read, write, and verbally communicate in English. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with hotel departments, Guests, and vendors. Ability to diplomatically handle difficult situations and people.\nTechnical Skills: Knowledge of hotel property management system. Basic computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and email. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.\nReasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, report, or schedule form.\nCertificates, Licenses, Registrations: Valid drivers license, vehicle insurance.\nOther Skills and Abilities: Experience in meeting deadlines and multiple priorities of business demands as required.
