Manufacturing Engineer
Title: Manufacturing EngineerLocation: Near Lemont, ILHire Type: Long Term ContractPay:$90k-100k/yr.Benefits: As a contract employee of Sterling, you are eligible to receive a Full Employee Benefits Package that includes paid time off, paid holidays, 3 medical plans to choose from, dental & vision plans, 401(k), and an Employee Stock Ownership (ESOP) plan.This position is responsible for managing cross-functional projects delivering continuous improvement of safety, quality, delivery, and cost through the elimination of waste from production processes, launching new products/processes into operations, and educating and empowering production staff.Job Duties:Manage Manufacturing Engineering projects, including preparation of detailed project plans with estimated task hours and timelines for development, production, validation, and launch; responsible for on-time, on-budget deliveryImprove manufacturing processes through review of engineering deliverables for technical accuracy and adherence to engineering standards and project schedulesInteract with Design Engineering, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to ensure design for manufacturability of new products; participate in design review process and act as liaison from inception through shipmentSupport new product launches by reviewing design, identifying opportunities for improved manufacturability, reduced cost, and improved process reliability; provide manufacturing feasibility inputIdentify opportunities for process improvement; analyze capital equipment needs and implement capital projectsLead projects through detailed planning and execution across equipment upgrades and optimizationsDesign and implement tooling and fixtures focused on error-proofing and waste reduction while improving safetyConduct and participate in Process Mapping, FMEA, RIEs, 8-Step Problem Solving, Quality Control Plan development, and DFM initiativesAssist in hiring, training, and mentoring manufacturing engineers and support staffSupport manufacturing transformation initiatives including Industry 4.0 and advanced automation solutionsCreate and improve project delivery processes and standard tools for automation solutionsQualifications:Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or related Engineering field5+ years of total experienceComputer proficiency with data analysis programsStrong problem-solving skills with experience using root cause analysis techniquesExperience with new product production integration or operational improvement projectsSix Sigma, Red X, or other problem-solving certificationCAD/CAM experienceExperience working cross-functionally across all levels of the organizationQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
