As a senior engineer, you will be responsible for contributing to the design, development, and performance of core features related to the database kernel, security, and scalability. You’ll work closely with product management, quality assurance, and technical documentation to deliver high-quality features on time.In This Role, You WillContribute to the design, development, and implementation of key features for the MarkLogic database, including query, security, scalability, and performance.Collaborate with the Product Owner and Development teams to help define functional and non-functional requirements.Assist junior engineers with technical challenges and promote best practices in technology and tools.Contribute to proof-of-concept projects for the MarkLogic Database and Server Product.Participate in technical discussions and ensure smooth project collaboration.Your BackgroundSolid problem-solving skillsAdvanced C++ coding skills5+ years of experience working on database internals or data processing systems2+ years of experience in distributed and multi-threaded systemsSolid understanding of Linux/Unix systems (Windows is a plus)Familiarity with all stages of the software development lifecycleSolid communication skills (both verbal and written)Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experienceAdditionally, It Would Be Beneficial If You HaveExperience with distributed systems, fault-tolerant software architecture, and performance tuningFamiliarity with NoSQL databases, query engines, and indexingFamiliarity with security technologies like SAML, OAuth, Kerberos, and SSLKnowledge of web and network protocols, as well as document formats like JSON and XMLIf this sounds like you and fits your experience and career goals, we’d be happy to chat.   What we offer in return is the opportunity to experience a great company culture with wonderful colleagues to learn from and collaborate with and also to enjoy:  Medical, dental, vision, life & disability, and financial benefits (including 401(k) retirement savings plan.
