{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"a63f6f08ff98cfe1370518db","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/a63f6f08ff98cfe1370518db","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/a63f6f08ff98cfe1370518db","title":"Program Director","description":"Kitchell seeks an experienced and dedicated Program Director to join our Southern California region in Los Angeles and build a long-term career at one of the most innovative and growth-oriented building companies in the United States.\n\nOverview\nDuties include Plan, direct and ensure the effective execution of projects and construction management services on large, complex and high-risk projects.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities\nLead a Project Management Team\nOrganize, direct, train, and manage a Project Management team ranging in size from 4 to 8 people.\nSuccessfully manage and execute 5 to 10 projects simultaneously, ranging in construction value and complexity from $1M to $50+M each\nSuccessfully deliver a variety project types (i.e., vertical construction, infrastructure, IT, landscape, etc.) on schedule and within budget\nTrack, address and resolve all project issues in a timely manner\nReview, negotiate, and process all change order\nReview and develop ‘design and construction’ contract documents\nCoordinate budget and schedule information with the Relocation Project Manager regarding FF&E, Asset Disposition/Surplus, and Relocation\nSuccessfully closeout projects to include DSA closeout and client specific closeout procedures\nCollaborate closely across departments from project planning through final completion\nIdentify project risks and create and implement risk mitigation plans\nCreate and present project and program information periodically to multiple stakeholder groups\nTrack all project status and provides management reports relative to overall progress relative to construction project delivery schedules\nTrack status and provides management reports relative to scheduling, cost control, staffing and other related construction contract requirements\nReview and inspect construction site offices to assess performance of construction teams and adherence to legal requirements\nMonitor, track, address and mitigate construction disputes\nDirect and assist in outreach efforts to provide information about projects\nPerform other related duties as assigned\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management is required\n15 years of experience in Management of multiple construction projects; experience within a large Capital Improvement program and familiarity with relevant Public Codes is required\n7 years of experience in Educational Facility Construction is preferred\nPrior experience with Central Utility Plants and Data Centers is highly desired\nExperience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM) and alternative delivery method is preferred\nExperience in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects is preferred\nExperience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes or similar is strongly preferred\n\nKnowledge and Skills\nKnowledge of all parts of the project life cycle, to include master planning, design and closeout is needed\n\nLicense and Certifications\nValid driver’s license with an acceptable motor vehicle record, free from suspensions or restrictions, is required\nA CA credential from the California Architectural Board or a PE credential for the State of California is preferred\nA CCD or CMCI credential is preferred\n\nTravel Requirements\nThis position is project site based embedded at the client campus location in Los Angeles, CA.\n\nWork Environment\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly work in an office and or construction environment. Conditions regularly include exposure to outdoor elements, hot/cold temperatures, wet conditions, noise, atmospheric conditions, and cramped quarters. The noise level in the work environment is occasionally loud.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee must regularly sit, stand, walk, talk, or hear and use hands to finger, feel and handle; frequently reach with hands and arms; occasionally climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
