In this role, you’ll solve complex mechanical challenges, guide projects from investigation through implementation, and collaborate with top technical experts across the energy sector—all while working 100% remotely.This is an opportunity to apply deep mechanical engineering expertise to some of the most critical energy infrastructure in the country, in an environment that values quality, technical excellence, and continuous growth.What You’ll DoLead mechanical engineering projects by analyzing complex technical challenges and delivering practical, compliant solutionsProvide expert guidance on mechanical design and construction methods for nuclear and power generation systemsPerform and review complex engineering calculations and technical design deliverablesLead investigations, modeling efforts, prototype studies, and system‑level analysesEnsure designs meet all applicable codes, standards, regulatory requirements, and Quality Assurance expectationsDefine performance specifications for mechanical components, equipment, systems, and processesApply principles of mechanics, thermodynamics, hydraulics, heat transfer, and materials scienceCollaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to manage interfaces and understand design impactsSupport engineering schedules and resource planningApply and support engineering change control processesBuild trusted relationships with utility and station customers through clear, technically sound communicationWhat You BringBachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program4–12 years of relevant mechanical engineering experienceNuclear industry experience OR experience supporting related power generation facilities (e.g., fossil, thermal, or combined‑cycle power plants)Working knowledge of mechanical design codes, standards, and regulations applicable to nuclear or large‑scale power generation facilitiesExperience working within Quality Assurance–driven environments (nuclear QA preferred)Proficiency with AutoCAD and mechanical engineering design toolsProven ability to perform and review complex calculations and design documentationStrong time management skills and ability to juggle multiple prioritiesAbility to interface confidently with utility and plant stakeholdersStrong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skillsNice to HaveDirect nuclear plant design or modification experienceExperience supporting power plant lifecycle projects, upgrades, or system modificationsFamiliarity with Engineering Change Control processesProject engineering or technical leadership experienceInterest in long‑term growth in nuclear and power generation engineeringThrives in a fast‑paced, technically rigorous environmentWhy This Role100% Remote (Eastern or Central Time zones)Work on critical energy infrastructure projects with long‑term industry relevanceExposure to complex, meaningful engineering challengesCulture that values technical excellence, mentorship, and career growthOpportunity to advance along technical and leadership pathsJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Naperville, IL.Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $90.00/hr.RequirementsEligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
