Job SummaryA temporary postdoctoral researcher will be hired in the Department of Microbiology and ImmunologyEssential FunctionsThe postdoctoral researcher will be responsible for:Independently researching, designing, and performing experimentation on multiple projectsTaking direction from the PI and collaborators to complete research objectivesPerforming molecular biology techniques including PCR, cloning, plasmid isolation, genomic DNA/RNA isolation, DNA Sequencing (Sanger, Illumina, Nanopore), virus productionAssisting in CRISPR experimentation – transfection of RNPs and viral transductionsPerforming tissue culture on adherent and suspension cellsPerforming cellular assays including but not limited to Western immunoblotting, flow cytometryPerforming all work in a BSL2 or BSL3 environmentMaintain and update paper and electronic laboratory notebooksCompile, organize, and process data in various software including Microsoft Office, PRISM, FlowJo, a dn lite computational data analysis in PythonWriting manuscripts, grants, and progress reports Required QualificationsMinimum of a PhD or Doctorate in BiologyMinimum of 1 year of experience.Physical DemandsTypically sitting at a desk/tableTypically standing, walkingLocationCenter City - Philadelphia, PAAdditional InformationThis is a Full-Time temporary position classified as Non-Exempt.
