This role ensures compliance, drives reliability through troubleshooting and analysis, and supports project execution and data system integration. The Technical Lead collaborates cross-functionally to maintain safe, efficient operations while mentoring team members and advancing digital capabilities such as IoT and predictive analytics.Key ResponsibilitiesReporting to the Operations Manager, the Technical Lead will have direct responsibility for the following:Provide technical leadership and guidance across engineering and field operations.Oversee design, development, and integration of mechanical, electrical, and process systems for oil and gas applications.Ensure compliance with API, ASME, ISO, and other relevant industry standards.Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for equipment failures and operational issues.Manage technical documentation, including specifications, drawings, and reports.Support project planning, cost estimation, and resource allocation.Collaborate with HSE teams to ensure safety and environmental compliance.Mentor junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of technical excellence.Interface with clients and stakeholders to define requirements and deliver solutions.Drive innovation through adoption of digital technologies, IoT, and predictive analytics.Additional ResponsibilitiesConduct electronic testing and performance validation of equipment and systems to ensure functionality and compliance.Perform calibration of sensors, instruments, and related devices to maintain accuracy and meet technical standards.Support equipment assembly, setup, troubleshooting, and integration with data acquisition systems.Monitor operational equipment by capturing and logging data from sensors, IoT devices, and other instrumentation.Maintain, modify, and troubleshoot embedded PCs, software, and communication devices.Ensure site connectivity to remote and cloud data centers via telecommunication networks.Provide training and technical support for customers and partners at their sites.Manage logistics related to tools, parts, and materials required for electronic and maintenance activities.Collaborate with engineering and data teams to validate data accuracy and align performance metrics with operational objectives.Assist with data entry, documentation, and creation of visual reports to track equipment performance and maintenance trends.Maintain detailed technical records and contribute to root cause analysis of electronic issues and failures.Assist with quality assurance of electronics on equipment.Adopt a safety-first attitude and adhere strictly to both customer and company safety regulations.Required Skills and QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Petroleum, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering (Master’s preferred).5-7 years of experience in oil and gas operations, engineering, or project management.Strong knowledge of drilling, production, and processing systems.Proficiency in engineering software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Aspen HYSYS, etc.).Familiarity with SCADA, PLC systems, and IoT-based monitoring solutions.Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work in high-pressure environments and manage multiple priorities.Flotek Industries is an equal employment opportunity employer.
