Job Responsibilities The person in this position will serve as a resource to local education agency (LEAs)/LOAs for Title I, Part C, Title III, and McKinney-Vento. Assume expertise in these federal programs and provide guidance as needed or requested. Coordinate and provide training and technical assistance to LEAs/LOAs to support the implementation of these federal programs. Serve as a liaison for Title I, Part C (and other Student Access Advocacy and Support Team (SAAS) programs as needed or requested) with the United States Department of Education, the South Carolina State Board of Education, the South Carolina General Assembly, and other bodies, as assigned by the Director or Deputy Superintendent. Under limited supervision, assume responsibility for oversight of assigned areas related to the implementation of federal laws and regulations, including financial responsibilities such as allocating funds, determining allowable activities, monitoring, and program evaluation. Ensure both program and fiscal compliance of the South Carolina Department of Education (SCDE) and its subgrantees. Develop and implement a statewide, data-driven professional learning plan, consolidated for SAAS programs where possible. Use relevant data to plan, broker, evaluate, and improve professional learning. Supervise assigned staff; organize and monitor work processes; orient and train employees; coach, counsel, and discipline employees; plan, monitor, and appraise job results; implement and enforce systems, policies, and procedures. Perform other duties as requested by the Director or Deputy Superintendent This position is located in the Office of Federal and State Accountability. Minimum and Additional Requirements A bachelor's degree and experience in education, management or business. Preferred Qualifications A bachelor's degree (master's degree preferred) plus five (5) years of experience working in the field of education management or business.
