Working within the guidelines set forth by the state\nin which these employees are licensed and also working within the guidelines set forth by the Company,\nthe PICC RN/ Vascular Access Specialist will maintain a high level of professionalism and skill.\nResponsibilities\nVascular Access\nBedside insertion of peripherally inserted central catheters (PICCs).\nBedside insertion of midlines and extended dwell catheters.\nBedside insertion of peripheral IV catheters.\nEstablishing access via intravascular ports.\nExamination, assessment and evaluation of patients with vascular access devices.\nEducation\nEducates all patients and family members on the procedures to be completed.\nAnswers any questions regarding procedures to be done.\nEducates staff when necessary.\nDocumentation\nClearly documents procedures completed as per client policy and per the policy of the\nCompany.\nCompetencies\nCurrent RN license in the state in which the employee is working.\nCurrent ACLS and BCLS certifications.\nCompleted vascular access competency skills checklist.\nCommunication Proficiency.\nPersonal Effectiveness/Credibility.\nPatient/Client Focus.\nWork Environment\nThis job operates in a wide variety of environments ranging through all types of healthcare facilities.\nDriving from client facility to client facility may account for a large part of the usual workday.
