These new spacesuits built by Axiom Space will provide astronauts with advanced capabilities for space exploration, while providing commercially developed human systems needed to access, live, and work in microgravity as well as on and around the Moon.\n\nSUMMARY: Our team is looking for an energetic and dynamic Embedded Graphics Software Engineer who will primarily be responsible for the design, development, and test of embedded and support software for the Axiom Extravehicular Activity (EVA) Spacesuit.\nDUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:\nResponsibilities will include the development, testing and deployment of embedded software on bare metal, Linux, and RTOS target environments.\nCreate, test, and integrate embedded software in prototype and flight environments.\nCommunicate and collaborate with subject matter experts across disciplines, users, and management through the software test and development,\nMaintain the integrity of our disciplined software configuration and management processes.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\n\nQUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\n\nEducation & Experience\nBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, software engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or related field.\n3+ years of experience developing software for microcontrollers and embedded systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.\nExperience working with microcontrollers and SOCs\nCollaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver innovation safety-critical products\nExperience working with Embedded Linux\nExperience using operating systems (e.g., Linux, VxWorks, RTEMS) and communications protocols (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C) to interface with spaceflight hardware.\nProficient with code in C/C++\nExperience with development of safety critical software.\nFamiliar with NASA core Flight System software.\nFamiliar with MBSE concepts and processes preferred.\nExperience working with Xilinx SOCs and related tools preferred.\nExperience with low level performance profiling and optimization preferred\nExperience with firmware development preferred\n\nEssential Functions\nWork Environment: Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on the task.\n\nRequirements\nMust be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.\nManagement has the prerogative to select at any level for which the position is advertised.\nProof of U.S. Citizenship or US Permanent Residency is a requirement for this position.\n\nPhysical Requirements\nWork may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs.
