This is a year-round exempt management position (Open to seasonal for the right candidate).\n\nDISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:\n\nThis position manages both operational and administrative functions of the County Golf Course. It serves as the liaison to the County Commission and community partners to enhance and promote year-round golf course use.\n\nExperience Required\n\nQUALIFICATIONS :\n\nKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities\n\nKnowledge of\nGolf course operations, clubhouse management, and grounds maintenance.\nBudget preparation and financial oversight.\nPublic sector policies and community engagement strategies.\nPoint-of-sale systems and reporting tools.\nMicrosoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).\nEvent and tournament planning.\nProfessional associations/resources (i.e. Utah PGA Section, PGA of America, Utah Golf Association, Northern Nevada Golf Association, Golf Course Superintendents Association, etc.)\n\nSkill to\nSupervising and leading diverse staff.\nCommunicating effectively, both verbally and in writing.\nPreparing, managing, and analyzing budgets.\nDeveloping and enforcing operational procedures.\nBuilding professional relationships with partners and the public.\nPromoting facility use and community engagement.\n\nAbility to\nWork independently and manage multiple priorities.\nRepresent the County professionally at meetings and events.\nSolve problems and adapt to changing circumstances.\nWork extended hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays during peak seasons.\nObtain PGA of America Membership and Nevada Noxious Weed certifications within one year of hire.\n\nEXPERIENCE AND TRAINING: The knowledge and ability listed above may be acquired through different types of education, training, and experience. An example of a typical way to acquire the qualifying knowledge and ability is listed below:\nBachelor's degree (in business management, or a closely related field) or any equivalent combination of education and experience.\nExperience managing staff, developing budgets, and engaging with public boards or commissions preferred.\nExperience with small engine repair is preferred but not required.\n\nLICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS :\nValid Nevada driver's license required.\nPGA of America Member\nNevada Noxious Weed certification (must be obtained within 1 year of hire).\n\nEssential Responsibilities\n\nESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS : The duties listed below are examples of the work typically performed by an employee in this position.
