Reviews patient records for orders, exam history, lab work, and allergies, and positions patients on the scan table. Establishes I.V. site for contrast infusion and administers oral, rectal and I.V. contrasts. Consults with Radiologist prior to administering I.V. contrast for bolus I.V. injections. Monitors patients during injection for evidence of contrast reaction.\r\nEnters patient and exam data into x-ray computer system and performs computed scan images. Prepares reports andmaintainsrecords of servicerendered , using the radiology department computer system to verify billing and quality assurance. Completes incident reports and anesthesia records when necessary. Reports all technical problems to the supervisor or senior technologist.\r\nAssists Radiologist with interventional procedures such as biopsies and drainages. Informs Radiologist of scan results when anomalies or abnormalities are visible. Schedules patient exams and revises daily schedules to accommodate emergency exams from MedSTAR, ER, and other units.\r\nCleans andmaintainsan aseptic working environment for each patient. Films CT scan images andarchiveexams onto tape or optical disk. Ensures adequate supplies are available andis responsible forreplenishing supply levels.\r\nAssists in the training and orientation of new employees and students.
