This position is responsible to coordinate the various technical disciplines associated with internal and external craft.\n\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nSupport and advise project managers in early project phases in design and constructability improvements.\nProved cost estimates for installed cost of all project needs and crafts.\nDaily oversight of supplemental contractors to ensure job scope is aligning with construction documentation, quality expectations, and safe working practices\nResponsible for shutdown events within assigned plants. Craft execution oversight and management.\nActs as a liaison between engineering and construction\nEnsure all activities executed fulfill the requirements of the Evonik contractor management guidelines\nEnsure compliance with Evonik technical standards and design drawings.\n\nREQUIREMENTS\nAn associate’s degree in construction or construction science is a plus for this position. An associate’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline is also an advantage.\nJourneyman certification in two or more of the following building trades is required: ironworker, electrician (low and high voltage certified), pipefitter, or welding.\nFive to seven years of experience as a foreman, superintendent, or inspector on large-scale, commercial, and industrial construction projects are required for this position. Experience at refineries, chemical manufacturing facilities or power plants is a strong plus.\nThrough knowledge of standard industrial/commercial construction practices and techniques is essential for this role; experience with all phases of construction from groundbreaking to completion is preferred.\nKnowledge of electrical, mechanical, piping, and other systems commonly found in refineries and chemical plants is required. An understanding of industrial painting and insulation techniques is also expected.\nThe ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, drawings, and other technical documents is a must. The incumbent must be able to complete basic technical drawings and sketches.\nFamiliarity with OSHA rules and regulations that impact such activities as fall protection, overhead lifting, trenching, and shoring, confined space, and hot work is required.\nA general understanding of project management principles and guidelines is helpful for this role.\nThis ability to communicate effectively and to build productive working relationships with individuals of varied backgrounds is vital for success in this role.\nThis position requires basic computer literacy with the Microsoft Office Suite of products; familiarity with SAP is strongly desired.\nThe Evonik Group adopts an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) approach.
