Team.\r\nThe Data & Analytics Internship gives students the opportunity to work inside a modernizing analytics organization focused on data science, analytics engineering, machine learning, data quality, and enterprise-scale reporting.\r\nAs part of America's Group D&A team, whose purpose is to enable data-informed decisions across the enterprise, you'll help build the future state of our analytics capabilities, including governed data marts, predictive modeling, AI-ready datasets, and scalable insights.\r\nThis internship is designed for students who are excited about data science + engineering, not traditional finance.\r\nWhat You'll Do\r\nAs a D&A Intern, you will collaborate with the team across projects involving:\r\nAnalytics Engineering & Data Preparation\r\nClean, transform, and structure large-scale datasets for analysis and machine learning\r\nBuild or support data pipelines using SQL, Python, and/or Alteryx\r\nAssist in creating AI-ready, modular dataset outputs aligned with our evolving data mart and governance framework\r\nMachine Learning & Predictive Modeling\r\nSupport feature engineering, model evaluation, and performance tracking\r\nHelp design experiments or evaluate historical behavioral trends (e.g., vehicle, buyer/seller, conversion, pricing)\r\nExplore methods for anomaly detection, forecasting, and model explainability\r\nVisualization & Insights\r\nBuild analytical dashboards and reporting assets using Tableau Cloud or Power BI\r\nTranslate patterns and model outputs into insights for operational and financial teams\r\nData Governance, Quality & Documentation\r\nContribute to data quality checks, lineage documentation, and definition consistency across the enterprise\r\nSupport the rollout of a business glossary and certified D&A datasets\r\nCollaboration & Learning\r\nWork with analysts, developers, and data scientists to deliver actionable insights\r\nParticipate in weekly analytics huddles, standups, and innovation discussions\r\nWhat You'll Gain\r\nReal-world experience in enterprise data science & analytics engineering\r\nDirect exposure to the D&A strategic vision: predictive analytics, AI roadmap\r\nA portfolio of production-style work that goes beyond typical academic exercises\r\nRequirements\r\nMinimum Requirements\r\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in: Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Mathematics, Analytics, Engineering, or related technical field\r\nComfortable with Python and/or SQL through coursework or projects\r\nBasic understanding of statistics, data wrangling, or machine learning concepts\r\nStrong analytical thinking and attention to detail\r\nAbility to work in the Indianapolis/Carmel area for the duration of the internship\r\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills\r\nDemonstrated intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn new tools quickly\r\nPreferred Requirements\r\nExperience or coursework in\r\nPython (pandas, scikit-learn, numpy), R, or similar\r\nSQL databases and relational modeling\r\nMachine learning fundamentals or academic ML projects\r\nData visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, or Looker)\r\nCloud tools or APIs\r\nFamiliarity with version control (Git), pipelines, or workflow tools (e.g., Alteryx)\r\nPrior internship,
