The JSSE will assist in developing secure architectures, authoring cybersecurity documentation, conducting vulnerability assessments, and supporting accreditation processes to ensure mission assurance and system compliance.\n\nResponsibilities:\n\nAssist in authoring DoD Cybersecurity Assessment and Accreditation (A&A) artifacts.\nDocument systems from a cybersecurity perspective using MS Word, Excel, Visio, and other tools.\nDerive and document system CONOPS for Mission Assurance Categorization.\nResearch, recommend, and document logical/physical solutions to prevent, detect, and correct system vulnerabilities.\nApply DISA STIGs and NSA recommendations to engineering efforts.\nDevelop secure network architectures and engineering documentation using Model Based System Engineering (MBSE) principles.\nDevelop, execute, and document security test procedures.\nAssist in analyzing designated US Naval warfare systems against known vulnerabilities, hacker techniques, and exploits.\nSupport Information Assurance Vulnerability Management (IAVM) planning and execution.\nPrepare System Security Administrator and Operators Manuals (SSAOM).\nSupport Authority to Operate (ATO) processes and resolve Interim ATO (IATO) issues.\nConduct risk assessments and support technical requirement specifications.\nDevelop Microsoft PowerPoint materials for program briefings.\nTranslate complex engineering concepts into simplified explanations for diverse audiences.\nAssist in developing cybersecurity requirements, policy standards, guidance, and procedures for combat systems.\nConduct cybersecurity-related research, gap analysis, threat analysis, and risk assessments for combat systems.\nUse MBSE models to perform cybersecurity analysis.\nMinimum of 1 year of engineering or cybersecurity experience.\nMinimum IAT Level II per DoD 8570.01\nActive Secret Clearance\nUnderstanding of DoD cybersecurity policies, RMF, PIT, and military system specifications.\nFamiliarity with cybersecurity boundary defense techniques and appliances.\nExperience in secure network architecture, security design, cyber testing, test analysis, or secure system development.\nStrong written and oral communication skills.\nAbility to document systems and processes clearly for technical and non-technical audiences.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint\nTharros combines extensive cyber defense knowledge with the world’s preeminent vulnerability expertise to identify and defend against attacks before they become problems.
