V22 Osprey Technician - SME (Jacksonville)
Our client is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for a V22 Osprey who will support the design, development, testing, and delivery of military training solutions and simulation systems. This role is responsible for providing technical expertise related to the operation, maintenance, and functionality of military platforms, systems, and weapons while supporting both engineering and production teams throughout the development lifecycle. The SME also assists with curriculum development, customer training, testing activities, and field support in accordance with contract requirements, industry standards, and government regulations.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesServe as the technical expert for the development and delivery of training programs focused on military operators, maintainers, and technicians.Collaborate with engineering teams to support the design and implementation of desktop applications, virtual and augmented reality simulators, and other training devices.Provide technical guidance to manufacturing and production personnel during development, integration, testing, and deployment phases.Participate in program reviews, training conferences, In-Process Reviews (IPRs), and additional project meetings as required.Travel as needed to support system testing, data collection, customer demonstrations, and delivery efforts.Create and maintain testing procedures, operator manuals, and user documentation.Troubleshoot hardware and software systems and recommend practical solutions for component or subsystem issues.Evaluate and identify suitable Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) replacements for OEM components.Assess the functionality and fidelity of hardware, software, and simulated systems used in training environments.Verify proper installation of components, wiring, and subsystem integration.Provide technical insight into system operations, component functionality, and practical application of military equipment.Identify required spare parts, support equipment, tools, and testing devices necessary for training system sustainment.Support Hardware and Software Integration (HSI) activities.Assist production teams as needed to meet program schedules and delivery milestones.Develop instructional materials, training curriculum, and courseware for customer use and classroom instruction.Lead or support Contractor Preliminary Inspections (CPI) and Contractor Final Inspections (CFI) when assigned.Support transportation, loading, unloading, assembly, and installation of training devices at customer locations.Ensure compliance with ITAR regulations, Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) requirements, and NISPOM security standards.Safely handle government-furnished equipment and materials.Work additional hours or overtime when project schedules require.Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications & SkillsStrong ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams while also managing tasks independently.Capable of leading testing efforts and providing status updates when assigned as a team lead.Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.Professional interaction skills when working with military personnel, government representatives, and international customers.Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.Ability to understand and apply technical standards, procedures, and instructions.Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance if required by contract.Education & ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED required.Minimum of six (6+) years of hands-on experience related to the operation or maintenance of military systems, subsystems, or equipment associated with the assigned program.Additional experience or certifications may be required based on contract or Statement of Work requirements.Completion of a Military Instructor Training Program is preferred but not required.Familiarity with the V-22 Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) and V-22 Aircrew qualifications is preferred.CDI/CDQAR qualifications are preferred.Prior experience in curriculum development, instructional design, or technical training is highly desirable.Kavaliro provides Equal Employment Opportunities to all employees and applicants.
