Restaurant General Manager
Nation’s is a quick service restaurant that is known for their burgers, breakfast, and pies. We are opening a location in Denton in October 2025 and are seeking a Restaurant General Manager to lead and manage this location.
The GM is expected to foster a positive and productive work environment and take initiative. The manager works on the production floor alongside the employees and runs an efficient shift. The manager is flexible and performs all restaurant tasks. The manager trains employees to execute excellent customer service and food quality. Duties / Responsibilities:
Restaurant Performance
· Own the store’s performance and make changes for improvement
· Grow sales, customer count and profits by suggestive selling and delivering quality food and consistent service
· Train and improve employee performance
· Pass shopper scores (hamburger, delivery, service, phone, and cleaning)
· Control food/pie cost and labor cost and minimize waste
· Review performance reports weekly and educate employees on store numbers
(Sales and customer count, check average, food cost and shopper scores)
· Monitor actual sales/check average and work to beat last year’s numbers
· Identify production and performance problems and implement solutions
· Make a schedule that fits the restaurant business needs and post 2 weeks in advance
· Communicate with HR manager and Nation’s leadership team regularly to make necessary changes
· Deliver results for goals set by Nation’s leadership team
People Leadership
· Train and lead employees to complete all tasks to meet Nation’s standards
· Direct and position employees throughout the shift; cover all breaks
· Assign tasks and make sure they are completed including all logs and checklists
· Cover all employee absences and call outs; keep restaurant staffed and open
· Recruit new talent into the store and identify and develop high potential leaders
· Interview, hire and onboard employees
· Retain good existing employees
· Acknowledge and praise good employee performance
· Correct employees not meeting Nation’s standards
· Meet with employees one-on-one, discuss and document attendance and performance including shoppers and customer comments
· Monitor and practice suggestive selling throughout the shift
· Communicate with employees in a professional and respectful manner
· Create a positive team environment and stop gossip
· Resolve employee conflicts
Customer service
· Be an example of excellent and consistent customer service to the employees
· Greet and welcome customers upon entry and exit
· Serve correct food to customers and expedite orders in less than 12 minutes
· Resolve customer complaints in a kind and courteous manner and offer to remake food first
· Train employees to professionally solve customer complaints
· Review customer comments and online reviews weekly and help improve the store
Expectations
· Be on time and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
· Cover all employee vacations and days off
· Be teachable and follow manager’s and area supervisor’s direction
· Place all orders and enter all inventory accurately and on time
· Get product in the store to cover shortages
· Audit the safe, investigate cash variances and send daily sales envelope to the main office
· Execute all customer promotions (BOGO coupons, etc.)
· Inspect restaurant and equipment daily for cleanliness and functionality
(Meet licensing, hygiene and health and safety guidelines)
· Inspect for and prevent safety hazards at the store
· Help train staff for other Nation’s locations as needed
· Close out payroll on time and maintain time keeping records up to date
· Process all time off requests and separations timely and accurately
· Keep attendance records and diary notes up to date
· Participate and provide input at Manger meetings and performance reviews
Safety Expectations

Qualifications
· 5 years of food and beverage service industry experience
· Reliable transportation, a valid California Driver’s license and automobile insurance
· ServSafe Food Manager Certification
Physical Requirements
· Prolonged periods of standing
· Ability to lift 25 pounds periodically
