Assistants in our Montessori environments assist the lead guide in implementing the Montessori pedagogical approach in the classroom. They organize and maintain cleanliness throughout the classroom, while modeling kindness, responsibility and peaceful interactions with the children.\n\nResponsibilities:\nManage daily transitions with the children using loving guidance and firm expectations.\n\nTake direction from the lead guide and follow through effectively.\n\nProactively ask questions and request guidance any time it is necessary.\n\nRefer all significant parent questions and concerns directly to the lead guide.\n\nPerform daily classroom maintenance duties such as snack & lunch preparation as well as daily disinfection of classroom materials.\n\nPartner with leadership to develop and execute an individual professional development plan.\n\nParticipate positively as a member of the school community, handle conflict constructively with colleagues, and strictly avoid gossip.\n\nAttend all mandatory commitments, including staff meetings and professional development days.\n\nThe Ideal Candidate:\nAppreciates and responds positively to guidance and feedback from team members.\n\nIs willing to commit to the school for a full school year.\n\nHas initiative and curiosity, including a strong willingness to ask questions.\n\nIs joyful, reliable, committed, energetic, patient, and highly detail-oriented.\n\nIs comfortable and confident working with children ages 6 to 13 years old.\n\nIs able to easily bend, squat, lift, climb, carry, and sit on the floor for extended periods.\n\nQualification Requirements:\nStrong work history supported by excellent professional references.\n\nExperience in Elementary classrooms is preferred.\n\nPrior Montessori environment experience is a plus.\n\nProfessional appearance, positive attitude, and exceptional attendance history.\n\nCollege degree preferred but not required.\n\nClean criminal record (must not include any felonies, any crimes against children, any violent crimes, a pattern of misdemeanor convictions, or any conviction of any sort in the past 24 months).\n\nPhysical ability to lift and turn while carrying at least 40 lbs. and sit on a tile floor for at least 60 mins.\n\nSkills & Abilities:\nDigital Literacy: Basic knowledge of Google Workspace (Drive, Docs) preferred.\n\nLanguage: Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
