This role regularly performs backlog development, technical requirement definition, stakeholder coordination, and delivery support, requiring strong technical understanding, analytical skills, and communication abilities to effectively carry out assigned duties.\n\nEmployees in this role are expected to perform their duties in accordance with The Way We Work, helping to create a company where innovation and care drive meaningful connections.\n\nDuties & Responsibilities\n\nEssential Functions\n\nLead the definition, prioritization, and ongoing management of the technical product backlog to support complex platform, API, and infrastructure initiatives aligned with business objectives.\nTranslate strategic product goals, architectural constraints, and technical requirements into clearly defined user stories, epics, and acceptance criteria to enable efficient and scalable delivery.\nDevelop and maintain Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) for technical roadmap initiatives in accordance with the approved Basys Product PRD methodology.\nCollaborate directly with software architects and senior engineers to ensure product requirements align with established architectural patterns, system design standards, and long-term scalability goals.\nOwn pre-sprint planning activities for technical initiatives, proactively identifying dependencies, sequencing work, and coordinating across multiple delivery teams.\nRepresent the product and user perspective during backend design discussions, architecture reviews, and solutioning workshops to ensure technical decisions support intended outcomes.\nLead and participate in agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, and architecture syncs, to ensure readiness, clarity, and alignment across teams.\nReview and validate delivered solutions against defined acceptance criteria, performance expectations, and scalability requirements to ensure quality and completeness.\nEnsure technical product releases and deployments are supported by appropriate documentation, training, stakeholder communication, and measurable performance indicators to promote operational readiness and adoption.\n\nAdditional Responsibilities\n\nSupport platform modernization, re-architecture, and shared services efforts through backlog leadership activities.\nDocument technical risks and raise architectural concerns during early discovery efforts.\nWork with Product Owners to support technical best practices and assist with stakeholder communication.\nCoordinate with QA and DevOps teams on test coverage alignment, CI/CD processes, and deployment planning.\nParticipate in security reviews and operational readiness activities for large-scale product launches.\nTo remain innovative and efficient, the use of AI is typical and expected within this role and at Basys.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nRequirements\n\nThis role is eligible for a hybrid schedule. Up to three days per week may be worked remotely in accordance with the telecommuting policy.\nA commitment to:\nExcellent communication and collaboration, both written and verbal\nExcellent problem-solving skills and use of judgement\nAccountability and Ownership\nQuality, Accuracy, and Attention to Detail\nA desire for continuous Improvement and learning\n\nEducation & Experience\n\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Product Management, or a related field is preferred.\nA minimum of 4–7 years of experience in a product management or technical product ownership role.\nDemonstrated success leading technically complex product initiatives.\nProficiency in Agile methodologies, backlog grooming, and product delivery tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).\nWorking knowledge of APIs, databases, system architecture, and secure development practices.\nNo certifications required.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.\n\nBasys provides technology and payment integration solutions for businesses across the country and Canada.
