This role is responsible for optimizing production processes, designing and implementing manufacturing fixtures and jigs, creating 3D models and engineering drawings, improving quality and productivity, reducing costs, and supporting the introduction of new products and equipment. The Manufacturing Engineer will work closely with operations, quality, maintenance, and leadership teams to develop innovative manufacturing solutions that improve safety, quality, efficiency, and operational performance.\nKey Responsibilities\nDevelop, implement, and improve manufacturing processes for assembly operations.\nAnalyze production workflows and identify opportunities to improve safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance.\nDesign and maintain standardized work instructions, process documentation, and assembly procedures.\nLead continuous improvement projects utilizing Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Kaizen methodologies.\nSupport production teams by troubleshooting process issues, equipment challenges, and product quality concerns.\nConduct time studies, capacity analyses, and line balancing activities to optimize labor utilization and throughput.\nSupport the selection, installation, validation, and commissioning of new manufacturing equipment and tooling.\nLead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for process failures and customer complaints.\nParticipate in new product introductions and engineering change implementation.\nDevelop and maintain process FMEAs, process standards, and process flow documentation.\nMonitor key manufacturing metrics and generate reports on performance improvements.\nEnsure compliance with all safety, environmental, and quality standards.\nDesign, develop, and implement assembly fixtures, jigs, work holding devices, gauges, and tooling to improve safety, quality, ergonomics, and productivity.\nCreate and maintain 3D CAD models, detailed drawings, and engineering documentation for manufacturing equipment, tooling, fixtures, and production aids.\nCollaborate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to design and validate tooling solutions that support assembly processes and error-proofing initiatives.\nManage tooling projects from concept through design, fabrication, testing, implementation, and continuous improvement.\nConduct ergonomic and manufacturability assessments to ensure fixtures and workstations support efficient and safe production operations.\nSupport capital projects involving automation, robotics, and custom assembly equipment through mechanical design and integration activities.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.\nMinimum 3 years of manufacturing engineering experience in an assembly manufacturing environment.\nStrong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.\nExperience with root cause analysis tools such as 5 Why, Fishbone Diagram, and Corrective Action processes.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.\nAbility to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of material.\nProject management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nStrong communication and teamwork abilities.\nProficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Creo, CATIA, or equivalent.\nExperience designing manufacturing fixtures, jigs, tooling, and work holding solutions for assembly processes.\nAbility to create detailed engineering drawings and technical specifications for fabrication and procurement.\nPreferred Qualifications\nLean Six Sigma Yellow or Green Belt certification.\nExperience with automation, robotics, vision systems, or assembly equipment.\nFamiliarity with CAD software and manufacturing simulation tools.\nExperience working in an assembly manufacturing environment.\nExperience designing automated assembly fixtures, poka-yoke devices, and error-proofing systems.\nKnowledge of additive manufacturing (3D printing) for rapid prototyping and fixture development.\nFamiliarity with machining, fabrication, welding, and tooling manufacturing processes.\nTakeuchi is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
