{"schemaVersion":"jobsearcher.job.v1","id":"a4ad6fce49c2638f7dcea3f5","url":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/a4ad6fce49c2638f7dcea3f5","canonicalUrl":"https://jobsearcher.com/jobs/a4ad6fce49c2638f7dcea3f5","title":"Storage Engineer","description":"Overview:\nThe Storage Engineer supports the Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFLC) Academic Network Labor Contract to administer, maintain, secure, and accredit the DLIFLC Academic Network, which provides the IT environment for 100% of the DLIFLC teaching and instructing for all students, staff, faculty, and guests in a learning environment at the unclassified level.\nResponsibilities:\nIs a part of the data center support group, tasked with configuring SAN/NAS systems, managing backup solutions, and maintaining the security of the data center.\nThis position includes monitoring and providing daily support to ensure the health and availability of IT systems and infrastructure, both on-premises and for cloud-based programs and applications.\nResponsibilities involve planning, installation, and maintenance, as well as troubleshooting and managing all Storage Engineer servers and applications.\nThe role involves designing, implementing, and overseeing an organization's data storage systems, working with networks, databases, and other high-capacity systems.\nThe duties will include planning, installation, maintenance during or after-work hours, troubleshooting, and managing all Storage Engineer servers and applications.\nConfiguration Management and Patching: Perform software installation, upgrades to operating systems and software packages, applying security patches, and maintaining operations of the Academic Network1.\nBackup and Restoration: Conduct and monitor daily Backup and restore activities for the Academic Network 1.\nRedundancy and Virtualization: Ensure a redundant solution capable of restoring the Academic Network functionality in the event of a catastrophic systems failure.\nDatabase Administration: Configure, operate, maintain, back up, and administer a Database Server utilizing Microsoft SQL Server.\nQualifications:\nRequired:\n\nEducational requirements include BA/BS from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 5+ years experience or substitute with AA/AS with 7+ years experience or substitute with 9+ years experience serving as a storage engineer.\nRequire anyone of the following IAT Level II (CCNA Security, CSA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, or SSCP) Certification and applicable CE/OS Certification.\nExperience with SAN technologies in a highly virtualized and converged environment.\nExperience in maintaining a high-availability data center.\nRelevant skills include VMWare Vsphere, Linux Red Hat, Windows Server, SQL, MySQL, EMC SAN technologies and applications, and Active Directory.\n\nSalary Range: $110,000 - $150,000\nThe above salary range represents a general guideline.
