This position reports directly to the Foreman and serves as the lead operator responsible for ensuring machinery operates safely, efficiently, and in accordance with quality standards. While not a formal supervisory role, the Lead Machine Operator may provide direction, training, and support to other operators and production team members as assigned.\nSuccess in the first 12 months includes maintaining production efficiency, minimizing equipment downtime, ensuring quality standards are met, promoting safe work practices, and serving as a reliable resource for the production team.\nWhat You Will Do\nOperate, monitor, and adjust automated bagging equipment to ensure efficient production and packaging operations.\nSet up and calibrate machinery to meet production specifications and product quality standards.\nTroubleshoot machine malfunctions and perform minor repairs to minimize downtime.\nCoordinate with maintenance personnel to resolve major equipment issues.\nLead daily machine operations and provide guidance to operators during assigned shifts or projects.\nTrain and assist new team members on equipment operation, safety procedures, and production processes.\nInspect packaged products to ensure proper weight, sealing, labeling, and overall quality.\nMaintain accurate production records, machine logs, and daily operational reports.\nConduct routine equipment inspections, cleaning, and preventive maintenance activities.\nPromote a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies.\nIdentify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.\nMaintain a clean and organized work area throughout the bagging facility.\nRequired Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or GED required.\nMinimum of three (3) years of experience operating automated machinery in a manufacturing, production, packaging, or industrial environment.\nDemonstrated mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment and perform minor repairs.\nKnowledge of OSHA safety standards and safe equipment operating procedures.\nAbility to read and interpret production schedules, operating instructions, and technical manuals.\nStrong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.\nPreferred Qualifications\nTechnical or vocational training in manufacturing, mechanics, industrial technology, or a related field.\nExperience operating automated bagging, packaging, or material handling equipment.\nPrevious experience providing leadership, training, or direction to production team members.\nForklift certification or willingness to obtain certification.\nWhat to Expect\nThis role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on work, mechanical troubleshooting, and working in a fast-paced production environment.
