In addition to the following duties, this position requires the employee to perform the responsibilities of the Production Associate.\nKey Responsibilities and Duties\nEnsure the safe and efficient operation of all downstream equipment to meet or exceed company established Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) expectations and customer quality expectations.\nFollow Lock out / Tag out policy.\nWear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when entering the production area.\nFollow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) when entering the production area.\nSafe operation of all fire extinguishers.\nProactive in addressing unsafe conditions on production equipment.\nReport all unsafe acts or conditions to Shift Production Supervisor immediately. Utility knifes will not be used on the production floor.\nParticipate in safety training as scheduled and provided by the company.\nObey all machine guards and safety warnings.\nResponsible for producing and/or packing the best quality product at all times.\nEnsure all production meets or exceed customer standards and expectations.\nEnsure all production is properly labeled and/or tagged.\nEnsure all non-conforming products are placed on hold with proper hold documentation completed.\nPerform data collection of quality measurements as directed or when necessary.\nEnsure all quality checks are properly completed and recorded in the NWA Quality Monitor or a plant specific form at the scheduled intervals.\nEnsure all raw material lot numbers are properly obtained and recorded as required.\nCommunicate out of specification conditions to the appropriate personnel.\nPerform scheduled Preventative Maintenance tasks as outlined by the plant PM program.\nProactive in addressing machine inefficiencies during preventative maintenance.\nEnsure downstream equipment is clean and in ‘showroom condition’ after preventative maintenance is performed on production equipment.\nContinually evaluate equipment for improvement areas. Tag components or parts that need repair, replacement or improvement as outlined in the Total Productive Manufacturing (TPM) guidelines.\nProactive in addressing housekeeping issues on the production floor and production equipment.\nPerform scheduled downstream production equipment changeovers as outlined by the plant production schedule.\nPerform downstream changeovers with limited downtime as described in Single Minute Exchange of Dies (SMED) procedures.\nEnsure production equipment is in safe and efficient operation after each changeover.\nMaintain sufficient records to support the Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) system – MicroMain.\nRecord parts removed from inventory on appropriate documentation to maintain sufficient parts inventory.\nNotify Maintenance Manager when parts inventory becomes low or reaches a reorder point.\nComplete the required paperwork and/or electronic data entry for all Micromain work orders.\nGenerate the necessary quick tickets when emergency repairs are required.\nCoordinate with Production Manager as it relates to production equipment training and employee development.\nProvide suggestions for training topics.\nComplete any machine and task specific training in the described timeframe.\nCommunicate problems, progress reports and continuous improvement ideas to management staff, maintenance and production personnel. Promote and participate in good housekeeping habits to ensure plant appearance exceeds management and customer expectations.\nEnsure all daily, weekly and periodic cleaning tasks are performed as outlined in the Master Cleaning Schedule.\nPerform line sanitization tasks as outlined in the Master Sanitization Schedule and according to company procedures.\nMaintain a clean work area at all times.\nEmpty all garbage cans in work area at the conclusion of assigned shift.\nSweep and/or mop production floor in work area.\nClean equipment if it becomes dirty or stained during shift operation.\nProactive in addressing housekeeping issues on the production floor and production equipment.\nOrganize and maintain clean work stations.\nResponsible for maintaining appropriate documentation during the shift.\nDocument machine or process changes.\nPerform necessary downstream operator checklists.\nMaintain accurate production reporting documentation.\nResponsible for active participation on plant teams and activities including safety, quality, sustainability, community involvement, OEE, maintenance, employee wellness, brainstorming and continuous improvement which are required to create and maintain a World Class environment.
