Each day, you will support business operations by performing independent installations, fiber optic cable splicing, and prompt repairs in outdoor environments.\nThis role requires a passion for problem-solving. Your daily responsibilities include performing pre-install inspections, climbing towers, managing underground fiber drops, and operating bucket trucks for aerial work and plant construction. Working both independently and as part of a team, you will combine hands-on technical problem-solving with a strong commitment to safety, following all company, OSHA, and industry standards as you install, align, troubleshoot, and repair equipment.\nLocation The individual in this role will support services and work in the field in and around Parsons, KS .\nWhat You'll Do Key responsibilities include:\nPerform fiber optic cable splicing, repairs, and plant construction/decommissioning in outdoor environments. Deliver and maintain wireless services, including aligning internet dishes and wireless receivers.\nComplete pre-install inspections, installation, testing, and maintenance on wireless towers, including climbing to install and repair equipment for new and existing builds.\nHandle service repairs independently and service drops from terminals to ensure reliable fiber delivery to businesses.\nService and repair VoIP systems for both residential and business customers to ensure high-quality communication.\nTroubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve customer connection and connectivity issues accurately and efficiently.\nMaintain a working knowledge of splicing schematics and spreadsheets, recording accurate splicing and field notes to support service timelines.\nProvide an exceptional experience to customers by being friendly, patient, and efficient.\nEnsure all work meets quality standards, safety protocols, and customer satisfaction goals while working at various heights (roofs, poles, towers, ladders, or bucket trucks).\nWhat We're Looking For To be considered for this role, you'll need the following required qualifications:\n2+ years of relevant work experience in a field-based technical role (splicing, installation, electrician, HVAC, or other low voltage work)\nTower climbing experience or willingness to learn.\nMust possess and maintain a valid driver’s license with no restrictions with the ability to complete a DOT physical.\nAbility to participate in an on-call rotation, which includes nights, weekends, and holidays.\nHas the ability to differentiate colors\nMust be able to lift up to 80 lbs.\nAble to enter and safely operate a bucket truck with a weight limit of 300 lbs.\nAbility to work both underground and in aerial environments (i.e., climbing ladders and/or operating a bucket truck).\nWhat Will Help You Stand Out Preferred Qualifications:\nPrior experience in the telecommunications industry in splicing, installation or wireless work.\nDesired Attributes Beyond qualifications, these attributes are what makes someone a great fit for our team:\nHigh aptitude for learning and a proactive approach to growing skills and knowledge.\nSelf-motivated; ability to work independently with minimal direction (at the completion of the training period).\nHigh attention to detail and dedication to quality workmanship.\nHigh sense of urgency and excellent follow-through on all tasks.\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nAdaptable and flexible when managing shifting priorities in a dynamic work environment.\nWhy Join IdeaTek?
