With over 5,000 employees and a presence in every county across the state, Texas A&M AgriLife is uniquely positioned to improve lives, environments and the Texas economy through education, research, extension and service.\nPosition Information\nThe Texas A&M AgriLife Research Center at El Paso will oversee the development and implementation of the Rio Grande Colonias USDA Food Business Center (RG-FBC). The RG-FBC is USDA funded initiative to provide coordination, technical assistance, and financial capacity to small and mid-sized food and farm businesses. The primary role of the Business Development Coordinator will be to identify and guide small-medium sized producers and supply chain entities (beneficiaries) through readiness for capacity building and expansion. The Business Development Coordinator serves as the first point of contact in the dissemination of information and resources available to the beneficiaries by way of the RGC-RFBC to the greater New Mexico and Texas community. The Business Development Coordinator will develop a caseload of beneficiaries whom they will work with for up to four years. This includes travel to beneficiaries' place of business, community meetings and events, ideally in person. This position will be located in Laredo, Texas.\nResponsibilities\nProvides excellent, prompt, professional, culturally sensitive customer service in English and Spanish.\nIdentifies and maps potential project resources, project beneficiaries, and their needs.\nAssists in the identification of supply chain gaps and opportunities for expansion.\nCoordinates with Technical Assistance Providers to match projects to appropriate resources.\nGuides beneficiaries through various appropriate permitting, funding, and licensing application processes.\nCoaches beneficiaries through readiness for Business Builder Subaward and other financial support opportunities.\nPractices good record keeping and tracking of client caseload and services provided.\nTracks client progress and pathway from initial point of contact through final objectives.\nRegularly participates in community events, programs, and speaking engagements to build relationships and promote the RG-FBC.\nServes on working groups and related committees as appropriate.\nRoutinely reports and makes recommendations to RG-FBC Program.\nSkillfully utilizes program databases and files.
