Duties includes provisioning, installation/configuration, operation and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure.\r\nThey will be responsible to ensure the operational health of the SharePoint environment, including security, availability, performance, interoperability, and reliability.\r\nThe System Administrator will suggest, promote, and leverage published standards to minimize environment complexity and ensure compliance.\r\nThey will also be required to continually improve operations through routine monitoring of system performance, review of system event and application log files, trend analysis, configuration, incident and problem management processes.\r\nResponsibilities and Duties\r\nDeep knowledge of SharePoint architecture design\r\nInstallation, upgrades, patches, configuration of all SharePoint Services and Windows servers\r\nManaging and monitoring the overall SharePoint Farm health and functionality\r\nMonitoring SharePoint disk space usage through built-in SharePoint reports for each site collection\r\nAnalyzing and reporting details surrounding SharePoint usage and activity\r\nMoving/copying sites\r\nSupporting network load balancing needs and ensuring correct operation (NLB)\r\nRegular review of the events and messages reported in Event Viewer and Performance Monitor\r\nRegular review, clean-up, management and configuration of SharePoint accounts and sites\r\nRegularly analyze SharePoint content and storage\r\nMonitoring SharePoint trends (e.g. site usage and growth, disk space usage and growth)\r\nSetting up alerts and enforcing policies\r\nRegularly auditing the SharePoint environment\r\nIdentifying and reporting governance violations\r\nChecking for SharePoint patches and cumulative updates\r\nRequired Skills and Abilities\r\nExperience in system administration of enterprise SharePoint environment (multi-server farms) including monitoring and troubleshooting\r\nExperience in MS PowerShell script\r\nFamiliarity with troubleshooting using Windows event logs, ULS logs\r\nUnderstanding and experience working authentication types: SSO (SAML, WS-Fed), NTLM, Kerberos\r\nStrong understanding of infrastructure technologies related to SharePoint: Windows OS, AD, SQL, DNS, load balancing, reverse-proxy, SCOM\r\nExperience with Disaster Recovery\r\nBusiness intelligence in SharePoint (a plus)\r\nKnowledge of IT and web-based technology concepts\r\nMicrosoft Office application suite\r\nUnderstanding of taxonomy\r\nAbility to learn new concepts very quickly\r\nGood communications skills\r\nTeam Player\r\nMust be resourceful\r\nEnthusiasm and eagerness to learn is a must\r\nWindows Server components including the registry, file systems, services, and system management tools\r\nEducation\r\nBachelor's degree or comparable work experience preferred Microsoft SharePoint certification\r\nJ-18808-Ljbffr","company":"Technology Information Systems","rawCompany":"technology information systems","city":"Washington","state":"DC","isRemote":false,"isActive":false,"createdAt":"2026-07-16T01:29:21.304Z","occupations":[{"code":"15-1244.00","title":"Network and Computer Systems Administrators","slug":"network-and-computer-systems-administrators"},{"code":"15-1299.08","title":"Computer Systems Engineers/Architects","slug":"computer-systems-engineers-architects"},{"code":"15-1299.01","title":"Web Administrators","slug":"web-administrators"}],"industries":[{"code":"541512","title":"Computer Systems Design Services","slug":"computer-systems-design-services"},{"code":"541513","title":"Computer Facilities Management Services","slug":"computer-facilities-management-services"},{"code":"541519","title":"Other Computer Related Services","slug":"other-computer-related-services"}],"jobPosting":{"@context":"https://schema.org","@type":"JobPosting","title":"SHAREPOINT ADMINISTRATOR","description":"The SharePoint System Administrator provides support for the Enterprise SharePoint Environment.
