We are hiring two Directors of Facilities Management with one dedicated leader for Palo Alto Community Hospital and one for Retama Community Hospital. Candidates must haveprovenhospital facilities leadership experienceto be considered for these exciting roles.
Position Summary
The Director of Facilities Management is responsible for thestrategic leadership, oversight, and performanceof all hospital facilities operations, including plant operations, utilities, maintenance, and regulatory compliance.
This role ensures asafe, compliant, and fully operational environment of care , supporting both patients and staff while advancing system-wide efficiency and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
Lead allhospital facilities operations , including plant maintenance, utilities, and infrastructure systems
Ensure full compliance withregulatory and accreditation standards(e.g., Joint Commission, CMS, NFPA)
Overseepreventive and corrective maintenance programsto ensure uninterrupted hospital operations
Directcapital planning, facility upgrades, and construction/renovation projects
Partner with clinical and executive leadership to supportpatient care delivery and operational needs
Manage vendor relationships, service contracts, and facilities-related budgets
Driveemergency preparedness and response planning , including disaster readiness and utility contingencies
Build and lead ahigh-performing facilities team , promoting accountability and service excellence
Implement process improvements to enhanceefficiency, safety, and cost control
Required Qualifications
Must have hospital facilities leadership experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Healthcare Administration, or related field
Progressive leadership experience overseeinghospital plant operations and facilities teams
Deep knowledge of healthcare regulatory standards (Joint Commission, CMS, NFPA, Life Safety Code)
Demonstrated experience managingcritical systems(HVAC, electrical, emergency power, medical gas, water systems)
Proven ability to lead large teams and manage complex hospital environments
