The Instructor will provide instruction on the parts and function of a vehicle, road regulations, and the basics of driving and operating a vehicle, and will also teach practical skills related to all aspects of driving, to include helping students develop confidence in their driving skills and gaining control of a vehicle during emergency situations. As a Driving Instructor, your duties may include creating lesson plans for classroom instruction, giving students hands‑on driving practice, and providing feedback to students on how they can improve. You need strong teaching and communication skills to help your students learn essential driving concepts and methods.\n\nQualifications\n\nHigh school diploma or GED certificate\n\nStrong teaching and communication skills; 1+ year of teaching experience preferred\n\nProficient in use of Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and other technology (television, computer, etc.)\n\nCPR Certified preferred\n\nMust be able to pass a Louisiana State background check\n\nPay and Perks\n\n$18/Hourly – 35-40hrs\n\nThis is a 1099 Independent Contractor position.\n\nDuties and Responsibilities\n\nInstruct driving courses for students\n\nCreate lesson plans and administer tests\n\nGrade students' work and evaluate their progress, providing feedback as needed\n\nProvide behind‑the‑wheel driving lessons for students\n\nCommunicate with clients or students' parents as needed\n\nJob requires maintaining patience and composure, keeping emotions in check, controlling anger, and avoiding aggressive behavior, even in very difficult/stressful driving situations\n\nNo cell phone use will be allowed during instruction times\n\nSkills and Competencies\n\nAbility to work flexible hours - weekends are a MUST\n\nMust be reliable, punctual, responsible, and dependable\n\nKnowledge of and ability to use technological equipment (i.e., MS Office/PowerPoint, computer, television, etc.)\n\nKnowledge of principles of instruction\n\nKnowledge of local & state traffic patterns, laws, and regulations\n\nMust be familiar with the interstate system and major highways in and outside of the local area/parish\n\nPhysical and Mental\nRegularly required to sit, walk, talk, hear, speak, operate a vehicle and/or computer, and other office equipment.\n\nWork in a classroom environment engaging with multiple personality types in conjunction with cultural differences and learning styles.\n\nWork with a variety of populations, including at-risk youth and adults, and individuals with disabilities.\n\nBe Open to Off-Topic Conversations at proper times for discussion and building a rapport with students (ex.
