Title: CNC Programmar Job Family: Production Reports to: Manufacturing Manager FLSA Status Non exempt EEOC Class: Craft Worker Summary The Lead CNC Programmer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and standardizing CNC programs for multi-axis machining operations while providing technical leadership to programmers and machinists. This position drives continuous improvement, process optimization, tooling strategy, fixture design, and manufacturing efficiency to support aerospace and defense production requirements. The Lead CNC Programmer serves as the primary technical resource for CNC programming and machining processes. Position Duties Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to: Lead and mentor CNC Programmers and Machinists.\r\nEstablish programming standards and best practices.\r\nReview and approve CNC programs prior to production release.\r\nLead process improvement projects focused on cycle time reduction and setup reduction.\r\nDevelop and maintain tooling, fixture, and programming standards.\r\nSupport capacity planning and machining strategy.\r\nParticipate in DFM reviews with Engineering.\r\nLead root cause investigations related to machining issues.\r\nSupport implementation of automation, probing, and lights-out machining.\r\nCoordinate programming priorities and workload across the department.\r\nLead and mentor CNC programmers and machinists.\r\nEstablish programming standards and best practices.\r\nReview and approve CNC programs before release.\r\nCoordinate programming priorities and workload.\r\nDrive setup reduction and cycle time improvements.\r\nLead DFM reviews with Engineering.\r\nDevelop tooling and fixture standards.\r\nSupport root cause and corrective action activities.\r\nTrain programmers on Mastercam and machining strategies.\r\nSupport machine utilization and capacity improvement initiatives.\r\nOther duties as assigned\r\nQualifications Education & Experience: 10+ years Mastercam programming preferred.Solid Modeling: 3 years (Required)\r\n3+ years leadership or mentoring experience.\r\nAerospace/AS9100 experience preferred.\r\nVericut experience preferred\r\nUse of SolidWorks and Cimco editor is a plus\r\nAble to trouble shoot programming errors and make CNC's run more efficiently\r\nKnowledge of Horizontal and Vertical Mills Multi axis machines\r\nStrong problem-solving skills\r\nAttention to detail\r\nAbility to read blueprints and advance GD&T knowledge\r\nGood machining practice and knowledge of speeds and feeds.\r\nCutting technique for stainless steel, aluminum, and other materials required\r\nExperience with working with castings is a plus\r\nMust have knowledge of CNC G-codes and M-codes.\r\nKnowledge of Renishaw probing use\r\nKnowledge of HAAS and Fanuc control\r\nGeneral computer skills, including Microsoft office\r\nStrong Shop Math; analytic geometry, algebra and trigonometry\r\nHigh school diploma or GED\r\nPhysical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to, stand, sit; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate machinery\r\nReaches, bends, twists\r\nRegularly lift 30-50 pounds\r\nRegularly perform repetitive tasks\r\nRegularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately\r\nSpecific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus\r\nThis position requires use of information which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
