Position Title: Project Director Location: MARTA BRT GA400 – Atlanta, GA Status: Full-TimePosition SummaryThe Project Director is a senior-level leader responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale design-build (DB) transit infrastructure projects—specifically focused on the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system along the GA400 corridor. This role demands deep expertise in project controls, safety and regulatory compliance (FTA/OSHA), and a strong understanding of MARTA operations.The ideal candidate possesses either:A PE license in Georgia with 20+ years of engineering experience, orA minimum of 10 years of BRT project management experience.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide executive leadership across all phases of the MARTA GA400 BRT design-build projectEnsure full compliance with FTA, OSHA, and MARTA operational standardsLead multidisciplinary teams across engineering, safety, construction, and project controlsManage and coordinate engagement with public agencies, consultants, and internal MARTA stakeholdersOversee project controls, risk mitigation strategies, and quality assurance implementationEnsure successful milestone completion within project scope, budget, and timelineImplement and champion paperless document management systems to enhance efficiencyMonitor construction field operations for safety and compliance adherenceReport project performance to senior leadership, identifying areas for improvementQualificationsEducation & CertificationsBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (required)Professional Engineer (PE) license in Georgia (strongly preferred)PMP Certification (preferred)OSHA and/or FTA safety training (preferred)ExperienceMinimum 20 years of progressive engineering/construction leadership with PE (GA), or10 years of direct experience managing BRT or transit projectsExtensive experience with design-build (DB) delivery methodsStrong command of project controls systems, cost forecasting, and scheduling toolsDemonstrated ability to lead high-performance, multidisciplinary teamsFamiliarity with MARTA operational systems and protocols (preferred)Experience implementing digital project tracking and paperless systemsKey CompetenciesStrategic project planning and leadershipStakeholder engagement and public agency coordinationBudget management and cost controlRegulatory compliance expertise (FTA, OSHA, local transit authorities)Team mentorship and leadership developmentClear and professional verbal and written communicationProficiency in project management software and digital documentation platformsWork Conditions & Additional RequirementsAbility to work in a hybrid office/construction site environmentWill require travel between BRT project sites and MARTA facilitiesMust pass relevant background checks and safety clearance processesFlexible availability, including occasional nights or weekends, based on project needs
