If you have experience with international shipping and are seeking a long term career, we want to hear from you!\n\nPosition Summary\nThe Ocean Export Coordinator is responsible for managing international ocean\nexport shipments from booking through final departure, ensuring compliance with\ncustomer requirements, carrier regulations, and company operating procedures.\n\nWhat You'll Be Doing:\n\nThe position serves as the primary point of contact for customers, overseas offices, carriers, terminals, truckers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate shipment execution.\nDuties include export documentation, booking management, customer service, shipment tracking, carrier coordination, and operational problem resolution.\n\nExport Operations\n\nCoordinate ocean export shipments from origin to vessel departure.\nManage freight bookings with ocean carriers and NVOCCs.\nConfirm sailing schedules, routing options, and equipment availability.\nMonitor shipment milestones and proactively address service disruptions.\nCoordinate with warehouses, truckers, terminals, and steamship lines to ensure timely cargo movement.\n\nExport Documentation\n\nPrepare and review export documentation, including:\nBills of Lading\nCommercial Invoices\nPacking Lists\nExport Declarations\nShipping Instructions\nCertificates and supporting export documents\nVerify documentation accuracy and compliance with customer and destination-country requirements.\nRequest, receive, and distribute shipment documents to internal and external parties.\n\nCustomer Service & Communication\n\nServe as primary customer contact for assigned export accounts.\nRespond to customer inquiries regarding shipment status, documentation, and schedules.\nProvide shipment updates and resolve operational issues.\nCoordinate closely with overseas offices and agents regarding export requirements and destination handling.\n\nCarrier & Vendor Management\n\nInterface with ocean carriers regarding bookings, equipment, schedules, and service issues.\nEscalate carrier capacity constraints and routing challenges when necessary.\nMaintain relationships with transportation providers and service partners.\nEvaluate alternative routing solutions to meet customer requirements.\n\nCompliance & Quality\n\nEnsure compliance with:\nFMC requirements\nExport control procedures\nSecurity and trade compliance regulations\nCompany operating procedures\nSupport internal and external audits by maintaining shipment documentation and records.\nFollow hazardous cargo and security requirements when applicable.\n\nOperational Administration\n\nMaintain accurate shipment records in company operating systems.\nTrack shipment KPIs and file management metrics.\nAssist with invoicing support, shipment closeout, and document retention.\nParticipate in operational meetings, customer training activities, and process improvement initiatives.\n\nWhat We're Looking For:\n\n3+ years of ocean freight forwarding or international logistics experience.\nExperience handling ocean export shipments.\nKnowledge of:\nOcean carrier operation\nExport documentation\nIncoterms\nInternational shipping practices\nStrong customer service and communication skills.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications.\nAbility to manage multiple shipments and deadlines simultaneously.\n\nPreferred\n\nFreight forwarding industry experience.\nKnowledge of FMC regulations and export compliance requirements.\nExperience working with Japan trade lanes and overseas offices.\nDetail-oriented 7 customer-focused\nStrong organizational skills\nProblem-solving mindset\nAbility to work independently\nEffective verbal and written communication\nSense of urgency in shipment execution\nTeam collaboration\n\nPerformance Expectations\n\nManage a high volume of export files and customer accounts.\nMaintain accurate and timely shipment documentation.\nMeet customer service expectations and shipment deadlines.\nCoordinate effectively with carriers, overseas offices, vendors, and internal departments.\nBENEFITS IF HIRED PERMANENTLY:\n401k with employer match\nMedical, Dental, Vision\nEmployee Assistance Program\nPaid time off\nHoliday pay\nLife Insurance\nHSA/HSA\nLTD/STD/AD&D\nIf you are interested and qualified for the Ocean Export Agent position please APPLY NOW.
