Human Resources Specialist (Portland)

Overview:We're looking for an HR Representative who wants more than an administrative HR role. This is an opportunity for someone early in their HR career to get broad exposure across employee relations, onboarding, payroll/HRIS, benefits, compliance, recruiting support, and HR operations inside a growing organization.You'll be the kind of person employees go to with questions, concerns, and day-to-day support needs. You'll also work closely with HR leadership on projects, process improvements, training coordination, and employee experience initiatives.If you're organized, people-oriented, curious, and looking for a place where you can grow quickly, this could be a strong fit.What You'll Actually DoOwn onboarding and offboarding logistics including orientation, I-9s, paperwork, and exit processesSupport employees with HRIS, payroll, and benefits questionsHelp managers and employees navigate workplace questions and employee relations mattersAssist with investigations, documentation, and follow-up as neededProcess employee changes including promotions, pay changes, transfers, and status updates in the HRISHelp maintain compliance with employment laws, policies, postings, and documentation requirementsPull and organize HR data including headcount, turnover, and other people metricsCoordinate training logistics and support employee development initiativesAssist with recruiting events, open enrollment, engagement initiatives, and company eventsSupport continuous improvement efforts across HR processes and employee experienceWhat We're Looking For1–3 years of HR experience or strong administrative experience with exposure to HRBachelor's degree preferred, not requiredSomeone who genuinely enjoys helping people and solving problemsStrong attention to detail and follow-throughComfortable handling confidential information professionallyClear written and verbal communication skillsA self-starter who wants to learn and grow within HRWillingness to travel occasionally between facilities in New EnglandWhat Makes This Opportunity DifferentThis is not a siloed HR role where you only touch one area of the function.
