Day Shift- 6am-4pm / Night Shift- 6pm - 6am (Some Flexibility in Scheduled Hours)Employment Type: Full-time, PermanentPosition SummaryPattison Company is actively seeking a Heavy Equipment Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team in Clayton, Iowa. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for conducting inspections, diagnostic tests, and determining the condition of equipment. You'll also be tasked with repairing and replacing components, parts, and systems to ensure equipment operates efficiently. This is a career position within a great team and an established company that offers excellent salaries and full benefits.Primary ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and correct equipment deficiencies including power, drive trains, electrical, air conditioning, fuel systems, emissions, and brakes.Troubleshoot and resolve malfunctions and failures in heavy equipment and machinery.Perform routine maintenance and minor to major repairs on heavy equipment.Collaborate with the repair team to diagnose problems and plan repairs for vehicles, trucks, and other equipment.Maintain accurate records of each repair performed.Adhere to company safety policies and ensure compliance with standards and procedures.Maintain cleanliness in the shop and work areas.Qualifications & RequirementsThis position requires that the applicant must have the following qualifications:Must pass all DOT requirements, pre-employment physical exam, and drug test.Proficient in spoken and written English.Ability to work under pressure and pay close attention to detail.Physically capable of:Working 12-hour shifts.Standing for 6-12 hours on uneven sandy/rocky surfaces.Lifting 60-80 lbs without mechanical assistance.Climbing on and off equipment and ladders.Working at heights of 30-50 feet.Willing to work any assigned shift, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.Willing to safely wear a half-mask respirator for up to 12 hours.Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.Education & Work ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalent preferred.ASE Diesel Certification desired.Priority given to applicants with a 2-year technical degree or previous experience.Certifications & LicensesMSHA Part 48 certification required (Training available on-site).Valid driver's license required for all Pattison Company employees unless deemed non-essential to the position by HR.Compensation & BenefitsPattison Company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including:Paid time off (160 hours in the first year)Affordable health, dental, and vision insuranceCompany-sponsored short-term disability & life insurance401(k) with company match (eligible at age 18)Training and career advancement opportunitiesAdvancement OpportunitiesPattison Company is committed to employee development and career growth.
