1st Shift - General Maintenance
Position: General MaintenanceLocation: Hartford, WIShift: 1st Shift - 7:00am to 3:30pm Monday through Friday with flexibility to report to work for on-call emergency requests on maintenance.Pay Range: $25.00 - $30.00 / hourWe are seeking a full-time General Maintenance worker responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks. This includes inspecting and maintaining equipment, troubleshooting issues, and performing basic carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work. The ideal candidate for this role is someone who has strong problem-solving skills, and is able to work independently. They should also have a basic understanding of building systems and be able to follow safety protocols at all times.Responsibilities:Safely operate various forklifts and JLG liftsInspection and repair of all forklifts/JLG liftsKeep documents of inspections and problemsReplace worn, damaged, or defective mechanical partsRepair or replace basic plumbing issuesUpkeep basic services of heating and cooling equipmentMaintain cleanliness and functionality of facility, including grounds maintenance and minor repairs.Test mechanical equipment to ensure proper functioningClean or lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, or other parts of machineryManage safety systems such as fire suppression systems, fire extinguishers, alarm contacts and other building systemsAssemble, disassemble and install equipment and machineryFix or replace faulty electrical switches, outlets and circuit breakersAssess functionality of all safety systems and electrical systemsRoutine maintenance on scheduled inspections and general repair work and maintenance of building, equipment and machinery in order to maximize their uptimeSeek guidance and report to owner upon installation of major repairsUpdate business owner/department leads on progress of repairsCheck control panels and electrical wiring to identify issuesEducate shop workers related to OSHA standards of lock out/tag outCommunicate to purchasing on necessary supplies needed for repairsMeet with Fire department on inspections related to elevator and fire extinguisherskeep detailed record of work and periodic inspectionsAbility to use common hand and power tools, such as screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches, and hammers to fix, replace equipment and parts of the buildingQualifications:Previous experience in a manufacturing setting or other related fields a plus or relevant technical training and 2 years of experience including, electrical wiring, plumbing, HVAC and carpentryMust be able to read, write and follow work instructions or work related documentsAvailable for possible on-call status for emergency requests on maintenancePossess a valid driver's license with a good driving recordBe able to operate various forklifts and JLG liftsPossess critical thinking skills to troubleshoot problems with various types of equipment and machineryExperience or certification to provide necessary training to shop staff on forklifts and OSHA standards of lock out/tag outKnowledge of simple operations in window based computer environment; preferred in JobBoss but not requiredAbility to complete hands-on work in fast-paced environmentStamina to stand for long period of time, walking, climbing ladders or in possible cramped positions within specific departments or equipment.
