Nurse Practitioner NICU (Hiring Immediately)

Our children's hospital in San Francisco has a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) devoted to providing the most advanced care available to critically ill infants. As a certified level IV regional NICUs, we are capable of providing all levels of newborn care, from basic to most intensive, and draw patients from across the region. Our San Francisco location, the William H. Tooley Intensive Care Nursery, was among the first NICUs in the world. This is a .9 position. 12-hour shift. Days, evenings, nights, rotating, weekends, holidays. Required Qualifications: NNP-BC certification. Master's Degree in Nursing with a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner specialization. Minimum one (1) year of recent Neonate NP experience in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit or recent completion of a Neonatal ICU Fellowship. License/Certification: California driver's license (CDL) if required for position. Current national certification from an accepted certifying agency and provide by first day of work. Complete a BRN recognized graduate master's degree program as a nurse practitioner. Obtain an active and/or transferable DEA license to California and provide evidence by 90th day of clinical practice. (It is the responsibility of the employee to transfer their DEA license to their new place of employment if from out of state, via online DEA portal and provide evidence of transfer). Submit enrollment with CMS Medicare and Medicaid through credentialing by first clinical day. CCS enrollment as appropriate for pediatric environments. Hold current AHA BLS. Hold current AHA NRP. State regulation requires that you have a supervising physician to practice. Incumbents with less than 6 months of NP experience will be hired as a Nurse Practitioner 1. UCSF Medical Center and Campus requires certain healthcare providers to be credentialed. In most cases this is done through its Office of Medical Affairs & Governance (OMAG) prior to the first working day. Credentialing and approval of the Standardized Procedures takes between 60-90 business days but can vary.
