We are seeking an experienced Professional Engineer with an extensive background in civil design, project management, construction management, transportation, stormwater and/or site development projects.\nThe ideal candidate will have proven experience managing multidisciplinary staff, multiple projects and client relationships simultaneously. This position will provide company-wide technical leadership, guide engineering staff, oversee project delivery, support business development, and represent Collier Engineering with public and private clients.\nChief Engineer Responsibilities and Duties:\nProvide technical leadership and direction to engineering and design staff across multiple disciplines and projects.\nManage and oversee multiple public and private projects, including technical scope, budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and project status reporting.\nReview engineering plans, design documents, specifications, technical computations, and proposed design or schedule changes prepared by internal staff and outside consultants.\nCommunicate regularly with engineering staff, private developers, government clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders to interpret needs and requirements.\nProvide project leadership and mentorship to junior staff and assist with hiring and management of engineering staff as needed.\nMaintain and strengthen client relationships while identifying and pursuing new project and business development opportunities.\nOversee or support transportation, public infrastructure, site development, stormwater, GIS-centric, asset data collection, and associated maintenance program projects.\nReview construction documents, including demolition plans, layout plans, erosion control plans, grading and drainage plans, stormwater management, utilities, site details, transportation improvements, and project cost estimates/analysis.\nMaintain a working knowledge of CAD platforms, including AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads and/or MicroStation.\nRepresent Collier Engineering professionally with clients, contractors, public officials, and the general public.\n\nChief Engineer Required Experience:\nB.S. or M.S. in Civil Engineering from an ABET/EAC accredited program.\nProfessional Engineer (P.E.) license in Tennessee.\n10+ years of relevant civil engineering experience, including public infrastructure, transportation, site development and/or stormwater projects.\nDemonstrated experience managing multidisciplinary staff, multiple projects, budgets, schedules, and client relationships.\nExperience with transportation projects and TDOT regulations or similar public-sector requirements.\nStrong background in project management, civil design, and construction management.\nProficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads and/or MicroStation software packages.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills with demonstrated leadership qualities and the ability to handle simultaneously occurring tasks.\nValid Driver's License.
