The Material Handler is expected to perform their responsibilities in an error free manner while completing required paperwork and computer data entries associated with service center production processes.\nResponsibilities and Duties\nAs a minimum, the following is a basic description of typical duties and responsibilities expected of the Material Handler position. These duties are not exhaustive and are subject to change as the needs of the organization require.\nWork efficiently while picking and restocking materials.\nEnsure stock tags and material identifications are correct.\nPerforms daily cycle counts.\nPrepare and pack items for shipments according to customer specifications and delivery dates.\nLoad and unload material from delivery trucks.\nMeasure materials upon arrival to the warehouse in raw, uncut form and check the gauge of materials using a micrometer.\nEnter gathered data into computer system and generate tags to be placed on the appropriate material.\nPull and stage materials according to the bill-of-lading.\nPerform dock audits to ensure the correct material is shipped to the customer.\nObtain proof of identity from carriers and the appropriate signatures on the bill-of-lading.\nDrive fork truck through the plant to move material and skids to designated areas, safely.\nOperate the over-head crane to move material from machine to packaging, safely.\nStrive to meet all customer expectations.\nAdhere to safety rules, regulations, and quality standards.\nAdhere to all handbook policies and procedures.\nRequired Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nBasic computer skills\nGood written and oral communication skills\nGood organizational, problem solving, and time management skills\nAbility to measure using different tools\nAbility to read and calculate numbers and data\nAbility to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction\nOperate with high integrity, maintaining positive relations with co-workers, customers, and suppliers\nStrong work ethic; self-motivated\nPreferred Qualifications\nOne or more years of warehouse experience\nFork truck experience\nPhysical Requirements\nPhysical demands can include but not limited to:\nSitting\nStanding\nUse of hands or fingers\nKneeling/Crawling/Twisting/Balancing\nBending/Climbing\nSpeaking and Listening\nClose vision (clear vision at 36 inches or less)\nWeights to be lifted:\nUp to 50 pounds—Can be accommodated with assistance and/or a lifting device if needed\nWeights to be pushed/pulled:\nUp to 50 pounds—Can be accommodated with assistance and/or a lifting device if needed\nWorking Conditions\nGood working conditions. Frequent visual/auditory attention and involvement required to place tags on appropriate materials.
