The Machine Operator uses equipment, tools, and instructions to generate products that meet quality standards and customer needs.\nEssential Functions:\nPrint and/or Convert raw materials to meet customer expectations as detailed in the job jacket and drawing.\nRecord in the ERP system, materials used on the work order and complete required process documentation for each job.\nReport hours in the ERP system, through the process of logging into each job.\nImplement quality control procedures on all jobs using quality checks, quality tests, and inspections as defined by the; IPIC, Quality Manager and/or Production Supervisor.\nPerform appropriate packaging for products and customers.\nCreate labels and implement label changes utilizing the Easy Label programs on the Zebra printers.\nUtilize the help buttons in the ERP system to update and maintain information concerning jobs and customers on the job jacket and/or job ticket e.g., improvements on quality, changes in the way it was run, etc.\nTake pictures and/or video and create process drawings of the process at the end of each job, if the process used is different from the Job Jacket.\nAdhere to the production schedule, and report discrepancies or concerns to the Production Supervisor.\nAdhere to 5S principals and protocol documented for each press.\nPerform routine maintenance on machines.\nContribute to the creation, improvement, implementation, documentation, and performance of the processes and procedures of The Strouse Corporation Quality Management System.\nEmbody Strouse’s values, through respect, and continual focus on process improvement and customer delivery excellence.\nCompetencies:\nMechanical Knowledge - machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.\nInterpretation of drawings and understanding of tolerances.\nProficient use of hand tools.\nGood communication, problem solving, listening, and interpersonal skills.\nPossess a strong work ethic and team player mentality.\nTeamwork and effective communication.\nPhysical Demands:\nThe physical demands described herein are those that must be met by an employee (with or without reasonable accommodation) to successfully perform the essential functions of the Machine Operator position:\nWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects that weigh up to 50 pounds, frequently lift, and/or move objects that weigh 50 to 75 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.\nTravel:\nTravel is rare (expected less than 5%), but any potential travel ranges from a partial day to multiple days.
