Optical Engineer (Entry level)Must be a U.S. CitizenLocationMurrieta, California (On-site position; remote work not available)Position OverviewNuPhoton Technologies is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Entry-Level Optical Engineer to join our Research & Development team. This opportunity is ideal for a recent graduate who is passionate about fiber optics, laser systems, and photonics engineering.The selected candidate will work alongside experienced engineers on the development, testing, and support of advanced optical amplifier and laser products. This role offers hands-on exposure to the complete product development cycle, from concept validation through manufacturing support and technical documentation.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport the design and development of optical systems, fiber optic subassemblies, and photonic components.Perform experimental validation and characterization of new product concepts and architectures.Conduct optical and electrical performance testing, system-level analysis, and prototype evaluation.Assist in troubleshooting manufacturing issues, component failures, and system-level faults.Prepare and maintain technical documentation including specifications, test procedures, reports, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and user manuals.Collaborate with Production and Quality teams to maintain product quality standards, metrology procedures, and training documentation.Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to optical and photonic product development.Support technical program management initiatives by coordinating project milestones and maintaining comprehensive technical documentationRequired Skills & QualificationsStrong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.Fundamental understanding of:Fiber opticsOptical communication systemsLaser physicsFamiliarity with optical simulation tools, laboratory instrumentation, or electrical circuit analysis is a plus.Strong written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation and cross-functional collaboration.Preferred Attributes· Hands-on laboratory experience with optical or photonic systems.· Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.· Eagerness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced R&D setting.EducationBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred), Optics, Photonics, Physics, or a related engineering field· Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.Compensation$60k - $75k, based on experienceBenefits· Bonus Pay· 401(k)· Health Insurance· Paid Time Off
