This team owns some of the most mission-critical infrastructure at the bank and is in the middle of a large-scale modernization effort, reimagining both the API layer and UI experience to build a best-in-class platform. This is a strong opportunity for early-career engineers to grow quickly while working on modern cloud-based systems at enterprise scale. You will be aligned to a specific product team (Zelle, ACH/Electronic Transfers, or Wire Transfers) and contribute to rebuilding and modernizing core banking rails using modern backend technologies.What You’ll Be Working OnBuilding, enhancing, and maintaining RESTful APIs supporting high-volume payment and transfer systemsContributing to a large platform modernization effort (Zelle & ACH)Developing new API services from the ground up and maintaining existing servicesSupporting both current platforms and next-generation modernized platformsWorking within highly visible, customer-facing systems that are critical to daily banking operationsCollaborating with engineers modernizing the service layer, including vendor-integrated solutions and cloud-native architecturesTech Stack & EnvironmentCore Technologies:Java with Spring Boot (primary development focus)Node.js (supporting and evolving newer serverless platforms)AWS (heavy usage) including:Lambda, EC2, S3, SQS, DynamoDBRESTful APIsNice to Have / Bonus:TerraformSOAP APIsFinTech or payments experienceExposure to serverless architecture (Lambda, event-driven systems)Candidates with Azure or GCP experience are welcome if they have 1–2 years of hands-on cloud development experience.What We’re Looking For1–2 years of professional software engineering experienceHands-on experience building and supporting APIs from scratchStrong fundamentals in Java and Spring BootComfort working in cloud-based environments (AWS or other major cloud platforms)Ability to clearly explain technical decisions, tradeoffs, and past workInterest in platform modernization, learning, and long-term growthNote: Strong communication is important.
