This includes, but is not exclusive of preparing the food and the room, serving and cleaning up of catered meals. Responsible for the set-up, stock and restock, recording all food and supplies used, clean up and checking regularly throughout the day to meet the needs of the physicians.\n\nESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:\n\nGeneral duties:\nCoordinates catering events with director and/or management team.\nSets up designated room according to Room Reservation Request and/or through verbal communication.\nPrepares or ensures preparation of appropriate food is completed to meet time requirements for each event.\nSets up and presents food to recipients in a professional and pleasing manner.\nNeatness and appropriate temperatures must be maintained throughout the serving period.\nChecks on function as needed and tends to any further need for food and/or supplies.\nEnsures that rooms are cleaned after event and returned to a neat and clean appearance.\nAll food and supplies are properly stored; dishes and utensils are washed, and returned to appropriate storage areas.\nSets up meals for physician’s breakfast, lunch, and snacks Mon-Fri.\nMonitors food and supply status throughout the day, restocking as needed.\nMonitors room cleaning and straightening to ensure a clean and neat appearance throughout the day.\nResponsible for cleaning and restocking all points of service in the physicians’ dining room. Ensures that all areas are well stocked during the day as well as for after-hours consumption.\nAs time allows, assist with food preparation for catering and doctors dining room\nResponsible for ensuring accurate and complete communications of all areas related to each catering, including but not limited to food preparation, room set-up, staffing and room clean up.\nDemonstrates effective verbal and written communication.\nStocks and maintains food in the EMS 1 and EMS 2.\nBehavioral requirements:\nShows creativity in addressing issues rather than defeating attitude.\nDemonstrates negotiations/conflict resolution skills.\nUnderstands and adheres to the confidentiality policy.\nAccepts accountability for impact of behavior on others.\nDemonstrates enthusiasm and self-motivation in performing job duties.\nWillingly volunteers to represent the organization in the community as needed.\nAdheres to the attendance policy: employee is punctual, observes work breaks, and meal periods and has an acceptable overall attendance record.\nDemonstrates initiative, including seeking new assignments and assuming additional duties when necessary.\nMakes suggestions for changes to improve work routines.\nDemonstrates an appreciation of cost factors in the routine performance of duties and maximizes cost efficiency.\nAccepts and supports change(s) in the organization.\nProfessional requirements:\nAdheres to dress code: appearance is neat and clean.\nWears designated department uniform in a professional and sanitary condition with appropriate hair restraint with clean, non-skid closed-toe shoes.\nCompletes annual educational requirements. Maintains education and development appropriate for position.\nWears identification/badge while on duty.\nAttends appropriate departmental and committee meetings on a regular basis.\nAttends departmental in-service and mandatory education.\nMasters new work routine, methods, and techniques.\nDemonstrates understanding of hospital and departmental policies and procedures.\nManagement of the environment of care:\nReduces the risk of acquiring or transmitting infection by learning and adhering to hospital and departmental policies and immediately communicating all unsatisfactory issues to management.\nAttends mandatory education to refresh knowledge in preventing the spread of infections.\nPerforms duties in a safe, functional and effective manner that reduces hazards and risks, prevents accidents and injuries and maintains safe conditions by adhering to established safety standards for body mechanics, electrical biohazard, utilities and emergency preparedness plan.\nWashes hands thoroughly and frequently following good personal hygiene practices.\nUnderstands and utilizes personal protective equipment to protect from exposure to chemical, radiation and/or biohazard.\nUnderstands and adheres to emergency codes and procedures. Able to describe responsibilities for each code as well as evacuation route and department meeting area.\nIs competent and responsible in following safety & security polices of the hospital.\nUtilizes equipment in safe, effective manner.\nIs knowledgeable of the location and contents of the MSDS manual.\nAdheres and supports hospital’s smoking policy.\nEmployee’s conduct must reflect the company’s values and a commitment to the Code of Conduct, ethics and compliance program. Supports hospital mission statement, standards of behavior, and goals.\nAdheres and upholds all service behaviors as listed in the ICARE value commitment and other departmental initiatives.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\nEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:\n\nRequired:Formal training and/or education in Food Services or catering field.
