Apartment Maintenance Make Ready Technician

We have a great opportunity for a motivated Maintenance Make Ready Technician to join our company, GMC Property Management! We are a family owned and managed company that has been in the multi-family industry for over 30 years. We are looking for a motivated Maintenance Technician with a minimum of 2 years in the Maintenance Industry.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSAssist in make readies with electrical, plumbing, and some carpentry as neededComplete work orders as directed by Community Manager and or Lead MaintenanceRepair structures such as showers, sinks, appliances, doors/cabinets, walls, and building exteriors Complete preventative maintenance program Complete grounds work such as grounds pick up, sweeping and light landscaping Have a working knowledge of HVAC systems and be able to maintain, repair and replace HVAC systems is preferred but not required for this positionRepresent the company in a professional manner at all timesPerform other related duties and responsibilities as requiredKEY COMPETENCIESMaintain a professional and courteous manner with residents, vendors and team members Ability to use power and hand tools to effectively and safely complete maintenance tasks Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions Must have time management skills Positive attitude and team playerREQUIREMENTSOne year of property maintenance experience preferredWilling to rotate 24-hour emergency maintenance on-callPossession of valid driver’s license and up to date vehicle insurance OR reliable transportationPrior to employment pass criminal background screeningPHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENTWork involves daily exposure to weather elements including heat, cold, humidity, wind and precipitationFrequent contact with residents in and outside of their apartment homes including those with disabilities Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, walk up and downstairs, and able to walk the property in its entiretyMust be able to work independently or as part of a team, as neededSALARY & BENEFITSSalary for this full-time position will be commensurate with experienceMonthly bonus potential for on call duties as well as resident renewalsWe offer excellent benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-and long-term disability insurance, flexible spending account, 401(k) and Housing discounts
