High volume Private Lender currently has an opening for a full time Controller. We're proud to offer a great atmosphere, growth within the company and believe in taking care of our team members.Job Summary and Key Responsibilities:Oversee the accounting and finance functions of 25+ organizational entitiesAssure accuracy and completeness of financial statements and reporting to internal and external stakeholdersImplement and regularly assess internal controls over accounting and financeMentor and assist team in complex accounting and financial transactionsDocument policies and procedures and implement a continuous improvement programSupport executive team in all strategic and financial efforts including annual strategic planning, deal assessment, key performance indicator tracking, etc.Oversee/supervise the day-to-day bookkeeping for all entities; including payroll administration, billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, TPT filings, bank and loan activity, and intercompany account reconciliation, as applicable.Utilize Yardi accounting software to calculate and disburse distribution waterfalls to loan and fund investors.Work with both capital and lending software systems to manage lending functions, including interest and payment calculations, collections, payoffs and distributionsAct as a liaison between the principals and the CPA firm preparing the tax returns for all entities.Design and implement systems which will lead to monthly consolidation and reporting of all financial results for all entities.Manage ongoing (daily or weekly) “dashboard” reporting.Design and implement budget/forecasting for the various business lines.Act as a liaison with the CPA firm performing the annual audit on the mortgage bank.Soft Skills needed for success:Detail-oriented with ability to multitask when neededFollow through is vitally important to this jobExcellent communication, reading, writing skills and customer service abilitiesSelf-starter, motivated, strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and follow-upAbility to work independently with minimum supervisionEnjoy working in a fast-paced dynamic environmentAbility to work well under pressure while maintaining excellent quality standardsQualifications:3+ years experience supervisory or management level accounting / controller experience At least 3 years experience in real estate, lending or related industryFamiliarity working with and consolidation of multiple entities and intercompany transactionsBachelor’s Degree in Accounting preferredApplication: Please submit your resume AND a brief cover letter summarizing why you would be a good fit along with your salary requirements.
