Ensure back-end components meet technical requirements, security standards, and support the overall mission objectives.Responsibilities:Designing, developing, and maintaining server-side applications and APIsBuilding and managing databases, and ensuring data integrity and securityDesign and optimize database queries and data access layersIntegrate with Government authentication systems and security frameworksWriting clean, efficient, and well-documented codeLeading code reviews and promoting best practices in back-end developmentImplement security controls and ensure compliance with applicable regulationsCreate and maintain documentation for back-end systems and interfacesCollaborate with front-end developers to ensure seamless integrationCoordinate with data engineering team on database design and implementationProvide technical leadership and mentoring to junior developersBasic Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fieldMinimum of 8 years of experience in back-end developmentExpertise in one or more back-end programming languages such as Python, Java, C#, Ruby, or Docker, Kubernetes.Knowledge of server-side frameworks (e.g., Django, Spring, .NET).Knowledge of database design and optimization techniquesExperience with API development and integrationUnderstanding of security best practices for classified environmentsExperience with authentication and authorization systems (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).Experience with API design and development (e.g., REST, GraphQL).Proficiency with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization technologies (e.g., Node.js).Strong understanding of database technologies, both SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQLActive TS with SCI eligibilityDesired Qualifications:Experience working with classified systems and security requirementsKnowledge of TSSC operations and requirementsExperience with cloud-based infrastructure and servicesUnderstanding of signal processing and data analysis techniquesExperience with high-performance computing for data processingExperience with message brokers like Kafka or RabbitMQKnowledge of caching technologies such as Redis or MemcachedExpertise in designing and implementing microservices architecturesProficiency with Infrastructure as Code (aC) tools like Terraform or AnsibleExperience with serverless computing (e.g., AWS Lambda, Azure Functions)Salary at VISTA is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $100,000.00 to $145,000.00 (annualized USD) based on years of experience. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of VISTA's total compensation package for employees.
