Audit Staff Accountant

About Us We are a large and progressive CPA firm located in Roanoke, VA, seeking talented CPAs or CPA candidates to join our tax and audit staff. We offer challenging assignments in a dynamic work environment, along with a competitive salary and benefits package.Role Overview As a full-time Tax & Audit Staff Accountant, you will collaborate with experienced senior team members, from Associates to Partners, gaining valuable exposure across various industries. This role provides an excellent opportunity to work with diverse clients and address a range of accounting issues, offering value-added solutions that drive client success.Key Responsibilities Prepare workpapers and post journal entries Import working trial balances into firm engagement software Collaborate with the team to reconcile account differences and analyze financial data Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and other tax returns Assist with special assignments or tasks as directed by senior team members or partners Qualifications Strong technical accounting knowledge Effective time management skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with advanced Excel skills being a plus Experience with CCH Engagement or Lacerte tax software is preferred Ability to work both independently and as part of a team A proactive problem-solving attitude Close attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; Master’s degree preferred Eligibility to sit for the CPA exam or CPA certification is required 2-5 years of experience or internships in a public accounting firm performing audit or tax work is a plus Our Mission We are dedicated to delivering personalized and comprehensive services to our clients.
