We are looking a DSP's (Direct Support Professionals) to work with our special needs client. DSP must have a passion for working in this field. Hours: 3pm- 6pm, Monday through Thursday. You will be working at our New City Center, located in New City, NY 10956. Please note that as per our client's request, we are hiring a Male DSP for this position. Service: Comhab. **Must have 5+ years of age and own car. **Please note this is located in New City not in New York City. _____________________________________________ Our New City Center is seeking experienced support professionals who have chosen this field because they are committed to making a positive difference in the lives of people with developmental disabilities through a career in health or mental care. You have at least a high school degree with years experience in direct and active support of people with autism, down's syndrome, etc. or even better, a bachelor's degree in a field related to health and mental care: psychology, special education, mental health, behavioral science, etc. You will be responsible for supporting our program participant both in prevocational and/or Comhab activities at our training center and in the community. Provide Safety & Support Promote client's independence. Assist the client to develop and maintain relationships. Promote and protect the health, safety and emotional well-being of the client. Commit to person-centered supports and honor the personality, preferences, culture and strengths of the client. Work in partnership with others to support the client to lead a self-directed life. Implement individualized service plan to guide client toward their full potential. Ability to communicate effectively. Be able to establish rapport and communicate positively with parents. Provide information to parents about behaviors and interactions with the client. Administrative & Company Policies Commitment to company values and adherence to policies. May be required to report to alternate work location (job-coaching can take place anywhere in the community) Report problems and concerns to supervisors immediately Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and/or senior management Education/Qualifications High school diploma required, bachelors preferred. Experience working with medically fragile people and with people with intellectual/developmental disabilities. Valid driver’s license and impeccable driving record and at least 5 years of driving experience. Ready to Make a Difference?
