This role assists with budgeting, forecasting, cost analysis, reporting, and overall program financial performance.\n\nThis position will be based out of McLean, Va. and can be performed fully remote.\n\nThe ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment supporting multiple programs and stakeholders. This position provides an opportunity to develop foundational experience in program finance, project controls, and government contracting operations.\n\nWhat you will do\n\nSupport monthly financial planning, forecasting, and variance analysis activities across assigned programs\n\nAssist with revenue, backlog, funding, and labor reporting\n\nPrepare recurring financial reports and ad hoc analyses for program managers and leadership\n\nMonitor program performance against budget, forecast, and contractual requirements\n\nSupport maintenance of financial data within ERP and reporting systems\n\nPartner with program managers, finance, contracts, and accounting teams to ensure accurate financial reporting\n\nHelp identify data discrepancies, reporting issues, and process improvement opportunities\n\nSupport audit requests and documentation requirements as needed\n\nMaintain organized financial records and supporting documentation\n\nWhat you need to have\n\nBachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field\n\n0-2 years of experience in program control, financial analysis, accounting, project management, or related roles, preferably within the defense or government contracting industry\n\nStrong analytical and problem-solving skills\n\nProficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis\n\nStrong attention to detail and organizational skills\n\nAbility to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines\n\nStrong written and verbal communication skills\n\nWillingness to learn government contracting and program finance concepts\n\nWhat we'd like you to have\n\nInternship or academic experience related to finance, accounting, or data analysis\n\nExposure to government contracting, ERP systems, or project-based financial environments\n\nFamiliarity with budgeting, forecasting, or financial reporting concepts\n\nAbout BigBear.ai\nBigBear.ai is a leading provider of AI-powered decision intelligence solutions for national security, supply chain management, and digital identity.
