Pinto Valley has been in operation since 1972 and has produced more than four billion pounds of copper. Serve as the initial incident responder, secure scenes, gather statements and evidence, and enter incidents into company systems.\nCrew Supervision & Workforce Management: Directly supervise Mine Technicians and equipment operators as assigned. Manage crew attendance, vacation scheduling, fatigue monitoring, and wellness checks. Administer positive recognition and corrective discipline in accordance with company policies and labor agreements.\nOperational Execution: Supervise all loading fronts to meet shift plans and production targets. Monitor loading unit performance, haul truck operator performance, tonnage, productivity, and quality digging practices. Identify and resolve bottlenecks, including crusher feed and pit congestion, to maintain continuous material flow.\nPerformance Monitoring & Reporting: Track and manage hourly payroll, KPIs, and productivity metrics within the work area. Evaluate equipment operators and provide timely feedback to support performance improvement and accountability.\nEquipment & Area Conditions: Ensure pit floor quality, loading area conditions, and operating practices support safe and efficient equipment operation. Verify that work areas remain compliant with design and operational requirements throughout the shift.\nCollaboration & Communication: Coordinate with dispatch, maintenance, and mine operations to align loading activities with the mine plan. Communicate expectations clearly and provide leadership in the field to ensure consistent execution of procedures and standards.\n\nPOSITION REQUIREMENTS\nRequired\nMinimum of 10 years of mining experience in open-pit operations.\nStrong working knowledge of the drill–blast–load–haul open-pit mining sequence.\nDemonstrated experience supervising crews in a production mining environment.\nExperience monitoring and managing loading unit and haul truck performance.\nProficiency with MineStar or similar fleet management systems.\nWorking knowledge of SAP or similar enterprise systems.\nStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).\nProven ability to manage safety, performance KPIs, and operational priorities simultaneously.\nStrong communication, leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to speak, read, write, and comprehend English fluently.\nPreferred\nPrior experience in a copper mining operation.\nExperience supervising loading operations and crusher feed management.\nFamiliarity with incident investigation, evidence collection, and root cause analysis.\nExperience with payroll tracking and workforce scheduling in a union or production environment.\n\nWORK ENVIRONMENT\nApproximately 80% field-based and 20% office-based.\nAbility to stand and walk for extended periods, including on uneven surfaces and stairs.\nAbility to kneel, crawl, stoop, and squat; occasional work in confined spaces.\n\nAll candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment medical exam, drug and alcohol test, and background check. All positions require a pre-placement physical examination to ensure candidates are 'fit for duty’. Additional training and/or testing may be required.
