This program includes establishing measurable objectives for product safety and quality, along with employee training and development programs.\nRole Summary: The Sheeter Operator is responsible for safely setting up, operating, and maintaining sheeting equipment used to convert roll stock or large sheets into cut sheets that meet customer specifications for size, quality, and quantity. The Sheeter Operator monitors production, performs quality checks, troubleshoots basic mechanical issues, and coordinates with helpers and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and minimal downtime.\nResponsibilities include, but are not limited to:\nSet up sheeter machine(s) according to job orders, production schedule, and standard operating procedures.\nInstall and align rolls, knives, blades, and other tooling per job specifications.\nInput and adjust machine settings (length, width, squareness, sheet count, speed, etc.) to meet quality and productivity requirements.\nCoordinate with material handlers, helpers, or forklift operators to ensure proper loading/unloading of rolls and finished pallets.\nInspect finished sheets for defects such as tears, scuffs, miscuts, edge damage, skew, and contamination.\nMake machine adjustments as needed to maintain quality standards and minimize waste.\nMonitor machine performance and promptly address routine issues or escalate more complex mechanical problems to maintenance.\nParticipate in shift hand‑offs, providing accurate status updates on jobs, machine condition, and pending issues.\nPerform routine operator‑level maintenance, such as cleaning, lubricating specified points, and checking for visible wear or damage.\nReport equipment malfunctions promptly and provide detailed information to facilitate troubleshooting.\nSafety Policies and Practices:\nFollow all company safety policies, including machine guarding, PPE (personal protective equipment), lockout/tagout, and safe lifting practices.\nFollow all Plant rules, Processes, and Hygiene procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.\nKeep work area clean and organized: remove scrap, sweep, and maintain clear walkways in accordance with housekeeping standards.\nQualifications:\nHigh school diploma or equivalent (GED) typically required.\n3+ years of experience operating sheeters or similar converting equipment in a manufacturing, printing, or packaging environment strongly preferred.\nAbility to stand and walk for extended periods during an 8‑ to 12‑hour shift.\nFrequent reaching, bending, stooping, and handling of materials.\nAbility to lift, push, or pull materials and products up to approximately 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.\nMust be able to understand and speak clearly, communicate, and understand directions in English as needed.\nSchedule:\nFull time position; 5:00pm 5:00am (2nd Shift).\nOvertime and weekends based on production needs.\nSalary: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour + shift differential\nBenefits:\nMedical, Dental, Vision\nPTO\nPaid Leave\n401k\nHSA\nLife Insurance\nAbout General Converting LLC\nGeneral Converting is your single-source partner for high-performance carton packaging.
